Unscrupulous Seller Maybe?

So I bought a razor from one of the many forums I belong to. I sent the payment right away and after contacting the seller the next day I was provided with a picture of the package with USPS information on it.
The next day I follow up with her seller because USPS still says status as "Pre-Shipment". He said he just dropped it off that morning and that's why. So now I check this morning and it still says the same thing.
Does USPS sometimes take over a day to process packages? Does that sound fishy? I have no idea what to do next. Any thoughts?

Well, I wouldn't panic just yet! We all have busy lives so I'd cut him a little slack before I'd consider him unscrupulous. See what the status is tomorrow.

Now, about that Gillette Blue Tip I told you I sent you Monday!!! :p

    (Just joking Montie) :)

When I drop off packages at my local post office they usually don't get scanned into the system until late that night. I've even had packages not get scanned in until they were delivered. It is not an uncommon occurrence and I wouldn't immediately blame the seller.

Give it another day. Are you sure you have the correct tracking number? I have made that error in the past.

Yes, USPS is notoriously unreliable, with their scanning.

Ok thanks. Just makes me second guess when USPS has now had it more than 24 hours and not logged it but it sounds like that's a regular thing.

When you see pre-shipment, it's actually an indication that the seller has transferred possession to the usps. It means a number was generated. Whatever happens next really is not about the seller.

I thought that meant that they printed the label and got the number. Now I know.
    Thanks.

It happens. Sometimes I don't get an update until it's actually out for delivery.

Thanks. I'm 3 days from the label being created. I will just wait patiently. Lol. Or not so patiently as it were.

See modern tracking has made us all anxious. See, before tracking was a thing we wouldn't have had a care in the world about this. Would have waited and if it didn't show up in a month we'd contact the seller. Hell we used to mail order items from catalogues and the back of magazines with blind faith that they would show up weeks later. But now something doesn't change in a day and we get anxious. We are no better for the convenience. And it's even worse when it's crossing an ocean...
