Very nice! I was starting to wonder if you still owned that razor. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Thank you Jim. I couldn't resist the roses blooming and the good weather yesterday. Love the B&W filter effect Jim.
Thank you. I still own it. I tend to pick a razor and use it most of the time for months on end before moving to something else.
April 26th Cold water WTG/XTG/ATG Timeless .95 SC Feather HS (3) Semogue Owners Club Badger Stirling Soap Lucky Tiger face tonic Fine Platinum Good morning gentlemen! Looks like one more twelve hour shift tonight, the weekend off and back Monday morning, fingers crossed. A fine shave this morning, BBS. I did notice the alum a bit more on my neck, not bad but more than a whisper. Inspired by @clint64 I finished off with a splash of Fine Platinum. Bed time. Have a great day fellas! April 26th Gillette SA-109 w Nacet (3) Razorock Mudder Focker SS TGN Synthetic / Mahogany Thayers Barrister’s Reserve Spice AS Went with a full 3 pass shave this morning. Hadn’t pulled this Razorock soap is quite a while. The scent is ok, and I’ve got the lather dialed in with it quite well. Lots of product and finishing in a bowl works the best for me with it. Razor was tightened properly this morning and had a smooth shave. Finishing with Reserve Spice always seems like a good idea. Have a great day all!
Yeah, I didn't care for the scent at all. I must have added enough water because it ..was practically soup. I think I prefer the cushion, and smell of Tabac. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Good brisk report on your progress with the Year of the Gem Clog Pruf. Switching to Arko for awhile, I see. One stick will probably see you through to yearend if you want it to... Interesting. I have two or three Ball Ends with mostly or completely split handles to repair. I had never considered turning them into "trench art" style razors by using cartridge cases... I bet a .303Brit case would work well too... Fabulous photo as usual. You should have used a rose-scented soap, though, to match the background... Great b+w photo! Beautiful photo of some great gear! Now go get some rest!
There could be a few who subscribed under an alias. That way they never have to admit they were there.
Sorry, I must not have gotten enough sleep, I could have sworn you just said you prefer the scent of Tabac to a nice reproduction of Old Spice....
I could hardly believe I said it . I've really grown to dig the scent of Tabac. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thank you John. I have never tried a rose scented soap. Perhaps after this stash is thinned down some.
Have to second that. Well both actually...Ride the cap and you cant go astray. I received an Atra SP with a razor i purchased and got incredible mileage from it . Someday .....i am going to shave my head with the Luxor. Or at least attempt to . Nice pic there . Work safe ! Seen that soap and just had to comment . Lol. I am still leary of my super speed since the 30 day rule incident. User error on my part . Just read a few days before that to make sure it was tight....my excuse is i lost focus during the shave . Great pic Jason!
An all star shave, Chris! We have bad shaves all of our life, start looking for something better, get into wet having and learn a thing or two about technique. And never stop to consider that it wasn't the tool that was causing the bad shaves in the beginning but rather the lack of technique. I will be doing a couple of cart shaves for Mayhem. Cant knock results! Really? You have roses blooming already ? The Daffodils just started blooming here. Beautiful photo, Clint! Is that a new AS Jim? How do you like it? Beautiful setup, Jim! Very nice Jason. RR(TFS) soaps are a bargain for the price and are good performers. They tend to get forgotten in the world of big name artisans with ever changing soap formulas. There is something in the scent profiles of Tabac that reminds me of my grandfather. Heck he might have actually worn Tabac back in the day.
Well MAYhem is almost here! I will say that, despite my using the pain stick for head shaves on occasion, I have never tried a shavette for that. I've tried a straight razor and made it partway through the head shave, but the handle kept throwing me off. I think a shavette would do the same thing. Also, the half DE blade could be trickier than an Artist Club blade. I probably need to do a rule or serious focus on the regular shavettes sometime in the near future and try to develop the technique so that I can add a new razor to the head shave rotation.
