Tabac is a hard triple milled soap. If no one has taught you the technique yet, pull up your chair and listen closely young one. You have to sprinkle some hot sink water over the puck and let it sit for several minutes. Usually the length of a shower is good. Then you dump off any excess water from the puck into your lather bowl or where ever. Then shake out your brush to a damp state and start twisting and mashing the brush over the now softened puck. Within 30 secs. you will have a fair amount of paste in the brush. Now move to the lather bowl and whip for a good two minutes. Add sprinkles of water as needed. Tabac produces a rich, thick, creamy lather unrivaled by most any other product. And it shaves beautifully. The tallow sees to that. If you like MWF (which I think you said you did, then you will love this). Enjoy.
ok, I thought that was the problem, I just have no idea what I'm doing! :happy102 I'll give it another shot tomorrow. Actually I don't have MWF yet, I just ordered it a few days ago.
Practice with the Tabac some. That puck will last you forever because it is tripple milled. Play around with your water ratios and make sure really load the brush. Don't just swirl once you move your lathering bowl. Make sure you pump the brush and really work it. You will be rewarded with copius amounts of beautiful lather. Did you guys see that I used the work copius, thats wazs smerty uf me.
I tried a sample of MWF a month ago. It was pretty good, but Tabac is better. MWF is also fairly expensive (especially w/ the bowl) so Tabac is the better value and the better shave. Trust me. Stick with it and you will be rewarded. Seriously nearly everybody who tries it loves it. There's a few detractors out there, but they are in a definite minority if you check the reviews.
I actually did pretty good with the MWF, I ordered from here and got MWF and a tub of TOBS rose and with international shipping I paid $27 http://www.connaughtshaving.com/
Paul at Connaught has good prices and his shipping is very reasonable and fast for being across the pond.
Have not ordered from him yet, but I have heard good things. If you're ever looking to just buy a tub of TOBS I think WCS has pretty much the best deal for we US types. $14 per w/ really cheap USPS shipping. I'm pretty sure about the only better deal you could get than that is to find it in a store somewhere (good luck with that).
No argument here. I loves me some chocolate cake. My mom used to make a chocolate pudding cake that rocked the Kasbah baby.
Another day come and gone SD'ers. I think I'll go home and stare at my newly arrived toys. Might even have to ruin my plan, and just dive right in with the slant. I don't know if I can wait. Gotta go hit the gym now. Until tomorrow then. See ya's.
Psst. Shep. Try the slant. Go back to the basics and take your sweet time and use no pressure. Used Tobs with it. Hell superlather it and TOBS and Tabac it. Enjoy Tracy out
I do, but I have a 4 yr old daughter with Cerebral Palsy, and soap and such to make, too. Not to even mention housework. :happy102 Perhaps I should stop carrying Vetiver. I don't know of too many people who would complain.
I don't know JoAnna. A lot of people rave about it. It must be an acquired taste/scent. Do you sell a fair amount of it?
So-so. But I haven't heard one person say a good thing about TSD Vetiver products. I'm using EO, from a very reputable supplier, and a lot less than I did at first. You probably woulda threw up a bit if you had gotten one of my first Vetiver scented products.
I don't think it is your product. I think it is the vetiver scent overall. Now the lime, yummy. You lime smell great, so does the coconut. Goodnight all, time for me to hit the sack. I think I am coming down with this cold that is going around.
That's kinda what I meant, but.......people do rave about QED's Vetiver soap. So..I dunno. <shrug> Hope you and all the other sickies around here get to feeling better, myself included.
