    RyX DoH!

I don't have any, but Tom also added Vitamin E to a bottle he sent my way. I did try working shea butter into a liquid balm for easier application. That one isn't quite right yet. Several local health food, and a couple beauty supply stores carry a rainbow of Essential Oils. Might cost between $5 & $10 per scent, but they go a long way.

I'm treading water here in the 30 Day, but got hopelessly behind in the SOTD thread. If it weren't for those super secret invisible ninja Mods this place would be a shambles. Oh, and Neal. He's helping, too!

Ok so far behind not gonna try. It it is important let me know. Sooo what I did see was that great minds think alike. ARKO...check.....30 DC brush...... Check.... Schick adjustable...check. I used a personna blade and brute but meh.. Still making my point!! It was a great shave. Onr difference is I use a shave stick as it was ment to be. Not wimped out in a mug. Just saying.

Yes indeed! It's actually very nice!
I used to think that it was too mild and inefficient. I have since learnt that my technique was just plain poor, and I was not really fully aware of the growth of my beard!

Sat am....lots of time to be taken so I did. No pics, no kit list, lets just say the Futur and me got on so well and I started the day feeling utterly sorted. Enough said :)

Very distracted. Still not sure why. Maybe it was just one of those days.

How well I remember those days. Traveling for either volleyball or soccer. Have fun with the kids this weekend.

Love the look of the blade. Is the blade acid etched?

A quick enjoyable three pass shave this morning. Everything just works well together. I am off to visit my mom and run errands with her. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.

Saturday April 28 - ever the eucalyptus

Supply Co V.2 SE injector on two - dot plate / Personna ( 14)
JR #267 birdseye maple and boar brush
Renaissance Fair horn quaich shave bowl
    Vitos Eucalyptus shaving cream
    Alum and Osage Rub
    IMG_00000229.jpg

Usual setup for the last couple weeks and usual result - 2.5 passes to a BBS without any problems or irritation. Osage Rub gave a satisfying cool finish.

The tub of Vitos cream is turning into a definite ring. It's a good solid choice for someone who just wants a reliable shave. The cream is softer than TOBS but not quite as runny as my Proraso Green. It makes a good lather with about 10 seconds work with the brush and the shave performance is excellent and the postshave feel good - probably because of the lanolin. Scent is relatively light and okay if you love the smell of eucalyptus in the morning but otherwise falls into the "meh" category. It makes no pretense of being a fancy artisan product with a poetic name and a complex layered scent and performance. Instead it's closer to being an Arko kind of cream. I bought mine in a plain 100ml tub with very plain labels that I think Connaught Shaving might pack itself. Otherwise the cream usually comes in one of those "professional barber" 500ml squeeze tubes.

I probably won't replace it when it's done. I have a huge number of creams and soaps at least equally as good in inventory to work my way through and I don't absolutely love the smell of eucalyptus in the morning... But I must admit, it gets the job done reliably and perfectly every time. In fact it has rather won me over with its performance. I started out underwhelmed by it and almost determined to dislike it -- the plain packaging with the amateurish non-waterproof labels, the single note light scent that I don't particularly like, and so forth. But it does a solid workmanlike job each and every time and leaves my skin feeling smooth and good. Really, what more does one need in a shave product? Like Arko, I can see someone who just wants a good daily shave happily settling in with this one for the long haul and having a 500ml tube of it as his (or her) only soap or cream...

    April 28th
    Cold water
    WTG/XTG/ATG
    Timeless .95 SC
    Astra SP (fresh)
    Semogue Owners Club Badger
    Stirling Soap
    Thayers
    Fine American Blend

I swapped the Derby Extra for an Astra SP this morning, the result was a close comfortable three pass BBS shave. Barely a whisper from the alum in the usual spots. Just a great shave to start the weekend!

Today's soap and AS combo seemed appropriate as I am heading for a haircut in a bit.

    Have a great weekend! [IMG]

I’m not sure how he created the effect but I believe you are correct, it’s acid etched.
