  2. Oh well, it's part of the job. When it gets too irritating, I just remind myself that all I have to do is deal with each one of them over the phone for ten to twenty minutes and then I am shut of them. It's the police who have to deal with them in person for hours, lodging them until they're sober -- and quite possibly hosing out the puke afterwards... That makes a phone call quite tolerable; it's just when it hits past 150 in a weekend that it gets a bit much.

    Razor: G3 Aristocrat Adjustable (5)
    Blade: Van Der Hagen (2)
    Brush: VdH Boar
    Soap: Williams
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

Another smooth, comfortable shave from the Slim and a VdH blade, BBS with no issues. Someday, I should pick up a VdH razor so that I can do a soup-to-nuts VdH shave. :)

And with that, I conclude another month. For the most part, I tried to stay to the theme of Adjustables, breaking out my backup Slim as well as Schick and Pal Adjustable injectors. I even got out the Arko on a road trip shave. Lastly, I got to try some new hardware including the VdH blades and the VdH Luxury boar brush.

    Now, on to MAYhem...
  12. Thanks, Jim! I have a couple more this week at that same location. Hope it doesn't get tiresome!

    April 30 SOTD:

    Razor: Timeless Bronze OC
    Blade: Sputnik
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft
Lather: Jeeves of Hudson St Bay Rum
    Aftershave: Clubman
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Unscented PSB

Last shave of the month, and it was another good one. A little weeper from a little shake in the middle of my shave, but other than that, DFS.

I started the month working on the one razor I hadn't tamed, the MMOC (generously sent by @sdguero), and after a few weeks, I had it down. Of all the safety razors I have owned, I can definitely get the longest lasting close shaves with this razor. So clong lasting, that if I push it, I could easily skip a day. I can get shaves like that with a straight or shavette, but too often with a safety razor.

I also got the Karve Christopher Bradley razor, and found this to be a very efficient razor that is also capable of some long lasting, close shaves. Not quite so much as the MMOC, but it isn't too far away.

It's really been a fun month with these razors. I am looking forward to next month with everyone again. I hope everyone has a great day!
  14. Great photo and recap Jim. Congrats on the two new brass razors.

    Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
ATT H2 / RR Barber Pole
    Derby Premium(2)
    Yaqi Boar (24mm, Frigate Class)
    IB Amici
    Homemade Lime AS
    Stirling Unscented Glacial PSB

Starting MAYhem a day early I broke out the ATT H2. Massive blade exposure and .91mm gap and some gnarly looking teeth certainly make this razor seem intimidating. The shave ,while very efficient, didn't seem overly harsh. The blade was held quite firmly and there didn't seem to be any chatter. I must have let the weight of the razor get away from me a little as I did end up with one weeper on my cheek and one on my chin but otherwise didn't experience any discomfort or irritation. I wasn't sure which brush I was going to go with when I took the photo but ended up deciding to go with the red and black Yaqi Boar (stock photo below). This knot on this brush still feels small when compared to the Stirling and on top of that it shed a good many hairs. Given its performance I may trade it off or re-knot it, but it isn't worth keeping in the den in its current state. I finished up with a spray of my homemade lime AS followed by some Stirling Glacial Unscented PSB for my daily face freeze. Have a great day my friends!
