Those bristles are probably brittle from years of storage. My standard advice... a good long soak (overnight?) in water with a couple of drops of Glycerine.

    Day 161

    Gem Clog Pruf
    Gem Stainless (3)
    Semogue BC Mistura
    Palmolive SC
    Superior 70

One and done... I could have easily skipped today.

It has taken me just over 5 months of continual use, but I think my muscle memory is finally right for the razor.

Long lasting comfy shaves have become the norm and I am liking it...

    Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
    Nanjie TTO
    Derby Premium (3)
Maseto Classic (30mm Finest Fan, Battle Cruiser Class)
    Stirling Satsuma soap and AS

For today's MAYhem shave I broke out the razor that was sent to me instead of the Futur clone in the Uncle_Ding bait-and-switch scam that occurred last year. This has to be the cheapest Chinese TTO ever made. When you tighten it down all the way the pressure on the blade actually starts to open the doors a little. The safety bar is wavy with a huge gap on one side and a tiny gap on the other(photo below). The whole thing weighs about .5OZ and is made of some sort stamped metal.

The Stirling pre-shave soap cooled my face down while I super gooped the Satsuma with the big Battle Cruiser classed Maseto brush. Great scent on the Satsuma, mostly mandarin orange with some spice and creamyness to it. Knowing that the safety bar is useless on this razor I really focused on riding the cap and since its so light I had to resist the temptation of adding pressure as well. Thee super slick passes later no blood was drawn and I ended up with a BBS shave, you heard right, a BBS shave out of a razor that feels like it was made out of a recycled tin can. Followed up with a splash of the Glacial Satsuma AS, and OMG the glacial splashes are cold! Colder then the glacial PSB I think, or maybe its just that the menthol hits you faster. Have a great day my friends!

Talkinabout post #s, I had 95 likes overnight. WOWW....YO. But back to the thread subject, I do find myself coming close to making a habit of my MayHEM focus..each time I get to my neck, I say "All right...remember what you said in TSD!!".

    Thanks.

It started as laziness, but now the shaves are of a quality that I really have no desire to change.

Day 161 on same razor. That Sir is dedication. I'd hate to to be a door to door razor salesman knocking on your door. Lol

Yikes . I'd just take the blade out , use it barehanded and toss the razor away. But thats just me .Congrats on getting a shave out of that thing .

The E is definitely more aggressive than the other Schicks I own. All is well and today has been busy just like yesterday. In fact, yesterday was a 15 hour day for me. Today will be about 11 hours. Tomorrow is another 15. 'Tis the life this time of year in my job.

    Thank you, Andrew!

Wednesday May 2 - no pic same old, same old

Supply Co. v.2 SE injector on plate #2 / Personna (18)
JR #267 birdseye maple and boar brush
    The Dry Dock shave bowl
    Vitos Eucalyptus shaving cream
    Alum and Osage Rub

Smooth 2.5 pass DFS today. The blade doesn't seem to be wiping my jawline completely BBS clean with 3 passes there anymore, but it is still smooth again and seems fairly sharp. No tugging anyway. I went a bit heavier today on the shaving cream and resulting lather which may have helped.

This is nothing like Cheshire. I've had the soap for a couple of years, and got the aftershave last year. Its a botanical scent, like getting hit in the head with a brick wrapped in a lemon. Petunia is strong, and the lemon is strong. Other undertones I really can't describe will. Always makes me think of the poor whale.

"And wow! Hey! What’s this thing suddenly coming towards me very fast? Very very fast. So big and flat and round, it needs a big wide sounding name like … ow … ound … round … ground! That’s it! That’s a good name – ground!

I wonder if it will be friends with me?

And the rest, after a sudden wet thud, was silence."

Thanks, John. And thanks for the Fatboy last year. If it weren't for you, courtesy of the USPS, I'd be the only "Fatboy" in my shave den.
