Thank you Jason. I bought the OneBlade Core to try out the concept. I liked it well enough to give them a call. OneBlade gave me a credit for the Core to be used towards the purchase of the SS model.

    May 5 SOTD:

    Razor: Gillette Aristocrat Jr
    Blade: Rapira Swedish Super Steel
    Brush: Simpsons CH-2
    Lather: Stirling Electric Sheep
    Aftershave: Barbasol Pacific Rush
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Unscented PSB

A great shave with this easy going razor today. Pretty much anti MAYhem. I did get to shave with my son, so it was a terrific shave. He is using Williams.

Yes, but is he doing the shave with an SR or shavette or is he using a wimpy Gillette DE like his Dad? :). (Nice Aristocrat Jr btw...)

And I now see how you are emptying the soap tubs -- you're getting your son to help! If it turns out you're shampooing the family dog with your shave soap too, I will have to file a formal protest with the referee of the Finished Tub Challenge on behalf of the East German team...

EverReady 1924 (left in photo) / Gem PTFE (3)
JR #276 white ash and boar brush
    Vitos Eucalyptus shaving cream
    Alum and Osage Rub

Okay, I now know I can now shave with either the 1914 or 1924 without shims and without drawing blood or causing irritation. Two passes to a DFS with quiet alum. Did I enjoy the shave? Not really -- I still find this razor rough and of the two, prefer the 1914 -- not that that's saying much. I can shave with both if I have to. And now that I have proven that, the 1914 and my assorted 1924s are all going back into my "tradesies" box for eventually disposal...

    Thanks, Buddy.

I remember a couple of decades ago, when I first found out I was going to be a Dad. I was almost in a panic, wondering how, if I could barely support my wife, was I going to support a kid. The last 21 years has purely been running on determination and responsibility. I’ve done fine by them, but now I am almost to a point where I wonder if I’m just going to drop dead the day Danie graduates from college. Obligations met, John Henry finished the railroad, Jared tipped.

The idea of life actually easing up is a really hard one to grasp. Gotta adapt my lookout, I guess.
