They are one of those razors that are easy to find from $5 to $12 easily; shipped and in good shape. :)

20180512_133436.jpg mild shave first time using pol silver. Not the greatest blade I have used, but fmdefinately a decent blade. First time using florida water in a long time, a new hispanic grocery store opened up a block away and they sell it for 4 bucks, forgot how refreshing this is. Got a dfs/bbs shave with my prewar tech.

At the invite of @MR41 I'm visiting from the soap ruckus.

I have a candidate for the ultimate mild shaver. It is cantankerous to make sure that the blade is loaded correctly, but when done Super Mild! It needs to be used differently but yields easy, irritation free BBS every day.

Don't wanna cramp anyone's style, but worth a try if you are still looking.

I still use my EJ DE89, Shick injector and Parker Variant cause they are fun.

But one of these, with a new Feather will hit my mug before I walk my daughters down the aisle.

    Be well!

Thanks for the mini review. I’ve seen these and wondered if I’d like them. I’m really liking the sticky I got from @Enrico .:) It’s so very smooth. Do you not find the feathers rough? I used to like ‘em , but since I got on this smooth kick, they’ve seemed harsh.

While for me a Feather feels a little 'toothy' in other tools on day 1, there is absolutely no harsh feel on the Focus R48 whatsoever. With a properly loaded blade, it is super mild. To get to BBS, I go WTG, mod XTG, mod XTG, ATG, touch ups. It is the ultimate in progressive beard reduction. It always shaves at the correct angle or it doesn't shave. The type of stroke I can get away with is amazing. Stuff I'd be cautious with on other tools can be done easily.

I can get the same result with Derbys, but you can feel a pulling. I'm going through other popular blades now.

I use a 1/2 Feather 3x, it is my target lifespan for this setup.

I know here at TSD, the hip motto is 'technique trumps tools', but I have learned so much about my particular hair growth pattern using this tool, that my shaves with other equipment are now all better.

For those interested, be advised that THE BLADE MUST BE LOADED CORRECTLY! I watched all of the super negative reviews and am convinced the user was not careful enough. I load blades once a week and check them with a magnifying glass.

Will you like it, only you can tell. $60 was not too much for me to risk.

    Be well.
