Thank you Jim. I am just following up on my back and a small issue with my right arm so PT should be fine.

Back to business as usual. I had a slight bit of irritation along the neck, but is most likely an artifact from yesterday.

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Schick
    Razor: Schick I1 injector
    Brush: JR #142 badger
Soap: Jeeves of Hudson Street Bay Rum
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Baker Street aftershave

This was an excellent shave. Two days of growth whisked away easily by the I1. Great lather from the Jeeves soap and a pretty chilly finish with mentholated witch hazel and Stirling Baker Street. Really enjoyable all around. The titanic of the Jeeves soap continues this week.

    Enjoy your day!

Great photo as usual, Clint. That Rubberset looks fantastic, especially considering its age. Hope the PT works well for you today.

You tried using the MMOC without any of your usual preparation yesterday, didn't you? Business as usual is good...

Great photo of some great products. How do you like the TSD soaps as shave sticks?

Lovely B&W photo, Perry! I really like that brush you got from Jim - it's a beautiful piece of wood and the design balances with the knot so nicely.

Monday May 7 - continuing with different SE razors

    Gem 1912 / Gem PTFE (5)
JR #276 white ash and boar brush
    Vitos Eucalyptus shaving cream
    Alum and Osage Rub

No pic today. I continued with the Gem type razors by using one of the ones I actually like and have shaved with a lot -- a 1912. The brush face lathered the usual reliable lather from the cream, then the razor whisked it away 2.5 times -- twice on my face and neck and then an extra lather pass just along my jawline. The result was my normal DFS that could turn into a BBS if only I would court a bit of irritation by doing some extra buffing in a couple places.

Tomorrow I will use another Gem I can usually get a good shave from with no risk -- the Featherweight. I must say, though, I came to a somewhat unexpected conclusion today. I did a Rule or Focus about half a year ago with my Gem and EverReady 1912s and learned to use them reliably. I know I can get a good shave from them, from the Featherweight, and from my Dammy, and I now know I can shave with the 1914, 1924s or my MMOC without bloodshed too. However, today I realized that while I can shave with the Gem SEs, I don't really enjoy shaving with any of them. There are many DEs I enjoy and several models of injectors, but the Gem SEs? Meh... (Sorry, Fuzzy @wchnu...)

Thank you, John! The TSD shave sticks are great. The lanolin soap has just the right consistency for the sticks, so they go on easily.

Thanks Clint. Wholly Kaw is fantastic soap. The scent on this one had to grow on me. I bought it expecting tobacco, but it is straight up chocolate. But I have zero complaints about performance. It can handle a crazy amount of water.

Thank you Patrick, Perry and John. The PT went really well. My back is in really pretty good shape for me. I do have a little issue with my right arm that is caused by an issue with my neck. Some stretching exercises and such should have it all squared away shortly.

I find the 400 style handles to be some of the most comfortable brushes to use. I do need to take a cloth and polish to this one but I just keep forgetting.

    Great lineup and photo Jim.

Wonderful B&W photo Perry. Good luck with the titanic effort on the Jeeves. Remember to load it like it owes you money and is past due.

A very good post. I think it is important for us to remember we don't have to like every type of razor. We each have our preferences and should use what we enjoy.
