May 9th SOTD CJB Shavette w Feather Pro First Canadian Maximo Gomez Cuba SS Finest Fan/ Maple Thayers Jeeves of Hudson St. Tobacco&Bay AS
Last shave in Tokyo, back to Thailand in the morning. The Kai cream is from the hotel. Lúcido is a Japanese brand. Along with the RazoRock Bruce and the Yintal I've been getting great shaves.
My SOTD SA style: Nivea Facial Wash Razorock Plissoft 26mm Super Speed/Astra day 3 Palmshave Lime SC Fino Soothe ASB Eau Sauvage EdT Very close, smooth and comfortable - the Palmshave Lime lathered very well for me and although it's not luxurious stuff it gets the job done. That Fino balm in my opinion is a jewel. I absolutely love it. A special thanks to my good friend Dave in South Africa for sending it to me! Enjoy your day!
SOTD MAYhem 9th Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap Gillette Trac II CVS/Personna Hardright Anchorset (24mm, Frigate Class) Stirling Iced Pineapple soap and AS Stirling Glacial Unscented PSB Today was the first time that I have used a cartridge razor in two and a half years. I must say that the shave went better then expected, funny how proper technique can improve the use of any tool. I recall from my cartridge days that when I was using a M3 or similar pivoting head cart that it always felt like I was dragging sand paper across my face. I didn't get that feeling with the Trac II, maybe it was because the head doesn't pivot or maybe it was just because my face was too frozen to feel it. I was mindful of using the razor with no pressure and did two passes for CCS. The shave was definitely not nearly as close as any other razor in my arsenal but its plenty good enough for a work day. I will note that the lube strip on the cart left a gloppy gooey slime on my face that I didn't much care for. So I will be removing the lube strip for any future endeavors with this razor. The star of the show was the Stirling Iced Pineapple. Man I love this soap. No lie, it is my absolute favorite soap, #1, may have to order a backup tub (or two). ITS THAT GOOD! Have a great day my friends!

Wednesday May 9, 2018 Razor: Personna Floating Head Blade: Gillette Twinjector (5) Pre Shave: DIY Brush: VDH Badger Lather: Prorasr Green AS: Mennen afta Newspaper Date: November 10, 1943 Back to my favorite set up (and there`s a reason), an almost perfect adventure, loved every minute. As usual, 2 passes, WTG/ATG with clean ups after each pass. Cold water rinse, afta on top. This morning is what " Wet Shaving" is all about. The joy of feeling your razor slide across your skin so smooth. Feeling how hairless and good your skin feels. I`m hooked. Happy Camper, God Bless. Bill
The Trac II was the first multi blade cartridge system and what started it all for Gillette. The Demonstrator razors were given away as freebies and even mailed to people in these neat little round tins. They included a coupon that was good toward the purchase of the real Trac II razors(metal and plastic handles, as opposed to all plastic) and replacement blades. The green handled versions were marketed as lady's razors. Some more good info at the link below: http://blog.headshaver.org/2011/12/look-back-at-gillette-trac-ii-razor.html
Organism 46B soap from PAA, Edvin Neiström Swedish steel, with barbers notch, Moon and Stars badger brush, Proraso green aftershave. Two passes with only on minor, dig in type cut where I always seem to do this - blood on the blade! - gotta work on my technique. However, the quality of the shave, especially on the neck under the chin, was probably the best yet. The Organism 46B soap was weird, with a buttery/oaty scent. I got no hint of bitter orange or brandy, at least on this first use. The experiment will continue in the coming weeks.
Pre: Cold water face wash Brush: Vie-Long 14846 Badger/Horse Cream: Sudsey Soapery Lavender & Peppermint Razor: Tatara Masamune OC (Pass Around) Blade: Gillette Nacet Post: Cold water rinse, Vitamin E Oil, Cella Eau De Lavande Final go with the Tatara and although it's beautiful I find it a bit mild for my liking. I don't mind the fact that you can't use other handles, I really like the handle and the whole balance of the razor. As I disassemble and assemble a razor each time I use it I don't like the long thread on the handle, petty I know, but it annoys me. Happy Shaving one and all.
