Great report, Andrew! I have a Trac handle I need to try out sometime. I also agree with the Iced Pineapple goodness!

So you made up for it by using a Trac-II? Seems a bit overly masochistic to me.

My Friday shave will likely be a Trac-II and a Dollar General (Dorco) cart.

WEll you know, the bar has been set high .
You'll have to let me know if the lube strip on them is extra gooey, like the Personna's

Great photo Jim. Hope you have a great day.

    Another wonderful B&W photo Perry.

Wow. Just love the photo and MonoBilt.

Technique likely has a lot to do with the better shaves. The better soap and using a brush likely improves the shave as well. I never really had an issue with cartridge razors and still use them with great success at times. I find the shaves with carts don't last as long as my normal shaves with safety razors.

Thank you gentlemen. Dragonfly was released last year, I received a sample last year and liked it so much I bought a bottle. It is deffinelty a summer scent so no that the weather is warm it will be seeing some use. I have been very impressed with Zoologist, they are making some great and different juice.

@RyX I wish your dad a complete and speedy recovery.

Nice write up and photo Andrew!
I received a sample of the iced pineapple bath soap with a Stirling order. I liked it a lot. The menthol was definitely noticeable, in some spots more than others. :)

Sometimes plans need adjustment. Beer can razor became energy drink Kamisori 1.0, which was folded in such a way that when I folded the part I was going to sharpen out of the way, looked like it might hold a blade. I grabbed an Artist Club style blade, but since it’s Mayhem, I grabbed a Dorco one. Ignored my rule about music and blasted Meatloaf. This blade was banished to the Maymen box because it was tuggy and not smooth. Apparently Chris is right. My practice with the Leopard made the light touch on the super light razor easy, and the blade felt fine. Started laughing nonstop, because not only was it working, it was working really well. Three passes (including ATG) and a BBS, with just two weepers. Better results than a few real razors I have used. Homemade Painstick.

    Thanks Jim (and everybody else!)

I'm not unhappy with the WD knot. I've found badgers in general to be floppy and suitable for paint brush style lather application. Not a rule since I do otherwise on occasion - knowing the floppiness I use them for creams. Jared @PickledNorthern clued me to the geometry. Loft at no more than twice the diameter. The issues I've encountered with badgers is based on the quality of brushes I've experienced. A couple of Vulfix that are too tall and not densely packed, and knots mounted in handles that could have been set deeper. If I stumble on a Simpson Chubby 2 at an antique store and the price is right - I'll have another level of quality to evaluate. Until then I'm happy with boar and synth for hard soaps and I accept that my badger brushes aren't Pro quality.

Wednesday May 9 - Gem SE razor trials concluded
    IMG_00000246.jpg

    Gem Damaskeene / Gem PTFE ( 7)
JR #276 white ash and boar brush
    Vitos Eucalyptus shaving cream
    Alum and Osage Rub

Today's shave was with the Damaskeene. I believe it was the immediate ancestor of the 1912 models. Good smooth shave wth 2.5 passes for a drama-free DFS. For now, this one and the 1912s are still honorary members of my razor rotation and therefore not definitively in the Tradesies Box.

Btw Jason @jtspartan, you asked what was in the Tradesies Box. Basically everything in my rather amorphous collection that doesn't get shaved with regularly, particularly the razors ( and soaps I suppose ) that I have tried and don’t much like using. I originally joined the shaving boards in October 2016 intending to use them as a way to value and sell off my shaving collection, which had sat stored in a closet without even being looked at for between five and ten years. Then I stumbled into the 30DC and learned how to use all that old stuff properly... Despite the best efforts of the Enablers here though, I have in fact gotten rid of some things. I have PIFed a few things, sold a couple on BST, sold a couple others when I noticed someone had a Want ad for something I had, and if I am trading with someone, I ask what they are interested in and then rummage around to find a few possibilities. I'm afraid it's not an actual organized box with a list attached though. More like Mr. Dressup's Tickle Trunk and I just poke around in it to see what I find...

Great report and photo John. I am doing the something similar. I will be selling some less used stuff soon. I need to take pictures etc for the BST.

For someone still sporting a "Well Know Member" tag making this kind of statement might attract the attention of CT campaigners. ;)
