This shave is for the recently (and IMO criminally) discontinued classic Obsession for Men. So many men and women love this fragrance. Seems 'wrong' somehow for this to be sent off the market. As a fragrance enthusiast I find it a bit heartbreaking that CK sent its, IMO, most storied designer scent to the glue factory. The only good news is that there is enough residual product "out there" to last many years to come on ebay.

The old style tin of Oubliette is a throwback, but the performance is modern, using the crown king formula. This was a close, comfortable shave.

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Valobra Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #285 brush. I did two passes with the Supply Provision with a Schick Proline B20 blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Mennen Skinbracer AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

Great looking gear! I’m considering a Karve. How do you like the C plate? I typically like my Slim on 6 or 7 and can’t decide on C or D.

Stirling Sandpiper today. 20 seconds to load the Wild West Brushworks/Elite Razor Manchurian White brush. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Vintage Schick Plus Platinum still in the Gillette Slim. Excellent smooth, close, shave. I finished with Stirling Sandpiper aftershave.

After two days of not using menthol I had to go back to it - this Black Ice packs a good icy punch, its black licorice scent is awesome, and does it ever lather beautifully. It has an incredibly comfortable post-shave feeling as well like every Stirling soap I have. The Prep added to the soothing and the Rubby Dubby Doo went on frigidly the way I love it!
