  1. SharptoothC

    SharptoothC I bite..........

It LOOKED like a $3 razor when I got it. If that. A couple days of soaking and scrubbing and it came out all right.

    CJB w Feather Pro

    Stirling Gin & Tonic

Stirling Unscented balm/ Booster Polar Ice AS

First day of multiple passes with this CJB. There was some red, but not too bad. Some spots feel a little rough afterwards, but not horrible, I’d call it a DFS-. Brought out the alum to test how it went irritation-wise, and there was a fair amount of noise. Finished with unscented balm on my lower neck and Polar Ice on my face.
    Have a great day all!

I don't like too much bloom. I'd rather have that dense wall-o-badger feel to it. Some string and math tell me that the original opening in this brush is probably about 22mm. So I don't know if it would be able to be opened up enough to accept a 24mm knot. probably a safer bet to go with a 22mm knot? Its my understand that the D01 knots are denser then their standard counterparts, is that correct ? I'm also thinking about a 46mm loft.

My D01 2 Band Flat top really does not have much bloom at all and has that dense wall of badger feel. The backbone is over the top. Mark has a picture of the same brush holding up a jar of MdC. The flat tops are not for everybody but my next Shavemac will be another flat top.

Thank you and no, first day start to finish with an open blade. I'd like to say I'm excited by the accomplishment, but that would be hyperbole.

I thought about using Clubman Gent's Gin on Sunday, but my relatives have invited me to the Mother;s Day buffet(they live at the same complex where my Mom died), and my Uncle is a recovering alcoholic, so there goes the Gent's Gin idea.

    Razor: Eversharp Schick J1 Injector
    Blade: Japanese Schick Twin
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22
    Soap: Williams
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

Another great shave with a "can't fail" combo. I hadn't used the Plissoft in a while and over hydrated it a bit. No bad effect on the lather but I did have to clean up the sink afterwards. :)

On a side note, I stopped at the local "One Dollar Zone!" on the way into work to grab a couple of cheap USB cables. The shaving section was kind of interesting as they carry German Wilkies for $1/tuck in and among a big selection of Curley-brand disposables.

    Britney?
That really is the worst looking brush of all time!
    Safe travels, Neal.
Beautiful gear, Clint, and I love the inlay and veneer work on the table top below as well!
I'll echo what others have already said, Perry- that Revere is a cool looking shaver.
As you are definitely one of our resident scent experts, Keith, do you think that there are any 'dupes' that are good reproductions of that Creed GIT?

Wow, lot of great photos and reports already today, gentlemen! And too many posts for me to quote and comment on individually using my Treacle Tablet (this BlackBerry PlayBook really is slower than molasses at typing anything, especially if including quotes or pics.)

I did want to say, however, that I know one of the Ten Commandments says "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's shaving brush collection". However Clint @clint64 and Mark @Boojum1 -- your photos today are giving me a mad desire to cat burgle you and swipe your brush collections because they're clearly simply awesome. Some really beautiful and unique brushes in there. Come to think of it, that goes for Keith @Keithmax and Jared @PickledNorthern too most days...
