Honestly, I only have one boar ... it serves me well, but I primarily use synthetic and badger.

I have an omega boar brush that never would break in. I even cut the loft down a tad to see if the ends would soften up and and nope. Hard as a straw broom / bristle brush and I usually soak it for 30 mins so the bristles don’t scrape away the skin before a shave.. lol it tears through a hard puck though.

Very nice! Jim, you will have fun with that. Do you have a wedge blade that will fit it, or are you planning to use a modern blade?

 

I have a collection of four or five wedges that are shave ready, so I can go either way. I even have vintage Gem Cutlery SE blades that have been sharpened that I use on a regular basis.

 

Very nice! Some guy I know makes handles for these if you're interested LOL

 

Shaves great with a modern blade.

I have been known to use modern blades, too.

 

I just won an Executive razor in the wrong case.


And I have a case waiting for it...
