Shave #42 on the Cape 1000 and all's well in Cape land. I added 20 canvas to the shave 41 post shave stropping, and the edge is still smooth. Soap was Tabac lathered with a 24mm HMW and Lucky Tiger topped it off.

    Cheers, Steve

Today's shave was with an ERN made razor. I had a buttery smooth 2 pass shave that left me with a DFS. Zero issues. Well made razor.

While I would not call the finish on the blade or scales as 'refined', this dog will hunt.

I had Kevin aka @HolyRollah replace the scales and do a light cleaning on this about 9 months ago. As part of the process he refreshed the edge on 5K and 8K Naniwa Superstone and finished it on an Escher. He did a fantastic job with it and I particularly love the scales he fashioned for it. :happy036: More recently I did a light refresh on my yellow-green Thurigian. :happy088:

When a razor performs right away on the tough areas of my chin I know I am in for a good shave. When it moves easily or even relatively easily against the grain on my upper lip I get impressed. And when it leaves little for touch ups I bask in a fantastic shave. The Big Napoleon hit all three marks easily in today’s shave. :happy036:

Herr Razors with a big grin.

It took me a little bit to figure out how to best use this razor. It makes shaving my chin and neck much easier.

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Valobra Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #285 brush. I did two passes with the Lee Mfg. 5/8 Razor and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Mennen Skinbracer AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
