I don't think a campaign for this has transpired yet. A successful campaign was waged for @Edison Carter, however, but those who have influence could pursue this one and see where it leads.

Oh man, did I need a shave. Five day’s growth came off, which is something really rare for me, to skip that many days.

The H8 is an interesting brush. Really pretty handle, a knot filled with best hair. I was a little bit nervous about the color, it was much grayer, and without the banding contrast that a good Simpson best has. But I shouldn’t have worried, it was super soft. Not as scrubby as I expected from a Best. So I don’t know how to describe this well, other than to use a Kent reference. It is very similar to their Silvertip, has just a HINT of scrub, (no scratch at all) and a little more backbone. If you are familiar with short, dense Simpson best, or Shavemac Finest, and are looking for something similar, this isn’t it. It is a higher lofted, traditional British style brush, without a ton of backbone, but enough density to to give a full face feel. My first impressions are quite positive, but I can’t give it a letter grade yet.

Interesting thought this morning after my shave: It feels&smells like I have too much of the Stoylin Spice A.S. on. I don't think I used that much, but I shave with the soap of same name, thus the merging together of soap&A.S. could be leading to it.

Ahhh, it's playoff season.....you're entitled :). (Having said that, I'm clean-shaven, so don't read what I just wrote lol).

Some of the Stirling AS’s are real powerhouses. Maybe you went a little heavy with it, it’s easy to do. Or maybe you are just That Guy.

Great picture, Jared! Five days growth is no joke. I'd be itching and scratching like crazy!

With a Shulton clone how can one NOT be "that guy"?

The razor just looks great. Nice mix of traditional and modern. Congrats on the new brush.

A parphhrase job of a song by Jose Feliciano appears to fit the bill here:

"Put on your red shirt, papa
And your wig tight on your head
Did ya hear what I said?"

    :)

Thank you, Clint. Easily my favorite razor. I picked the brush up used on EBay. He said it had only been lathered once, and it still had some funk to it. I got it for a song compared to new. I like Kents, but I kind of think they are overpriced when new. They are also kid of a different animal from what seems to be tending among us today, so they can be had pretty cheaply on BST’s.

Thank you, Perry. It was one of the most hectic weeks of my life. I never go that long without a shave.

In my experience used brushes are some of the best bargains listed on BST. I know I’ve gotten some gone great deals on brushes.

I feel the same about the Kents.....I bought the cheap comb from the Clubman.com site. I ask myself why the others, which don't look that much different, cost so much more? Would love to get a hairbrush, but would need to be a millionaire.

So I ordered a tub of Soapy Science from that really cool little kid. Her website is set up to accept PayPal. Nineteen minutes later, I had a shipping notification.

I'll leave that up to others. CT's are fun but I don't want to attract attention my way.

I’m feeling good this morning. Plenty of time to shave, so I reached for the straight. Three passes with no blood, but a moderate level of irritation on the third pass as confirmed by burn from the alum. Realized quickly that the second pass was better mostly abandoning the scales and the tail of the tang and using a good firm grip with the tang held tightly between my thumb and forefinger just above the scales. The third pass is getting less awkward, but I still haven’t quite figured out the technique to go E-W or W-E, on my neck, which is a requirement for the BBS. As such today required pulling out the Fatboy to touch up and achieve it. By comparison, dialed in at six, it feels like there’s no blade in the razor.

On the software front, today was my first trial of B&M 42. Had to read the book first to understand the context (i.e. weird and abstract), but I’ve got to admit it did make the shave more fun. I like this soap more than several other B&M flavors I have, but will ultimately need to trade a soap for it since I have no room to add any more. As such, Sinfonia, Eventide, and/or Jacinthe may go up on the block soon.

I also need the E-W passes on my neck. I compensate by using an opposite handed scything motion, one pass down and one pass up, while performing some intense skin stretching.

This was kind of like the final advanced move I had to master to be accepted into the Sith. That is one of the reasons I really like the AC style blades, or my custom PRC, because the shorter length lets a guy get more straight up east/west.
