Baili BT171/Nacet. On a superficial level this sure looks like a 60s-70s English/Argentine Tech. And yet, this thing has more exposure (shorter guard span) than I'd expect from a Tech. Anyone have both? I don't have one to compare and photos posted elsewhere were inconclusive. Great shave.

First shave with "Doc's Special Blend" this morning. Disclaimer alert: I have life long sinus issues so even though I have over 220 soaps in my den and growing I do not review soaps as my sense of smell is quite different as a result. I really didn't know what to expect from a soap made from someone in 8th grade (12-14 age) but wanted to support her effort and science project, so bought one tub of soap and DSB listed Peppermint, wintergreen, grapefruit, lemon, basil, rosemary and vetiver which didn't look like anything I already have in my supersize shave den. Upon opening the lid, wintergreen is the prominent note that hits me first, then peppermint then a faint citrus note. I then lathered up with my Oscar11/SOC boar knot and the notes began to change to a minty-greenish note that is hard to explain, Jim you mentioned reminded you of Frozen Tundra and it has been four years since I last used FT, so I can't do a comparison, but if I remember right, FT was not as minty in aroma, and DSB I would say is a tad colder but neither FT or DSB are meant to be on the frosty side. It is a thirsty soap and lathered up nice and thick, the way I like it. Honestly, I didn't expect much in blade slickness before I got started with the Bostonian/Parker blade but I was quite surprised in this department. Nice and smooth and slick. Aroma mellowed out during the shave and have to say is growing on me. I can pickup the vetiver and basil now in the mellowed out minty aroma. Second pass, again razor glide was nice, smooth and slick. Impressed. Post shave not as slick as I like but then again, I have been spoiled by Grooming Dept soaps in this department. Would say that post shave feel was better than the Meißner Tremonia Lavender De Luxe shave cream I used two days ago. Going to use again for Monday's menthol shave but looks like this one is a keeper.

    Got a great shave today!!

    Shower: PdP lavender bar soap
Brush: Semouge OC SE 2012 badger/boar.
    Razor: Merkur 42c
    Blade: Persona medical prep
Soap: Sudsy Soapery lavender and peppermint.
    Post: Osage rub
    Lotion: Gillette aftershave gel
    Cologne: Azzaro chrome platinum

Been looking forward to this day. I finally used up the last of my queen charlotte Cayman cream and could now start using my SS lavender and peppermint.

My first shave with this soap turned out even better than expected. Its right up there with SV for best soaps I have tried. Great peppermint scent that gives your face some coolness when applied with lavender scent in the background. Very natural scent to me. No issues with building good lather with it. Razor glided around my face with ease and didn't get a nick. Even added a little extra pressure with great results and no razor burn or tightness after I was finished. With all the butters in this soap my face feels baby soft. Even now 9 hours later my face still feels better than when I just finished shaving with other soaps/creams. I highly recommend trying SS if you haven't yet.
