Thank you Jason. I thought the photo really showed off the brush handle. The C&E Lime is acceptable but will not be on the buy again list. I am trying to use it up.

Thank you, Clint. I agree on the NEWs- the SC and LC, while slightly different, are both super shavers.

What are the differences? If I could ever find one cheap, which is the better of the two?

A good alternative to a New LC is to find a Goodwill 160.

Same baseplate, just a different blade alignment mechanism.

Very interesting, how do the shaves compare? Are the Goodwills more common?

Personally, I've found the shave to be comparable.

A New has the blade feel of a slim on 6-7 with a little better efficiency. I personally feel that the SC is a tad more efficient then the LC but there are others who say they cant tell any difference. A New in decent shape can be had for about $15 if you keep your eyes open. The New SC and LC are my 2 favorite Gillette DE's.

That GJB is quite the looker. I enjoyed your thin lather with a tiny brush video! :p

That is the best looking one I own. I think I have 4 of them with different handles. Not really thin lather....dense and slick.

Gotta go with the Fuzz-meister on that one. I love making and applying rich, fluffy lather as much as the next guy, but for a straight edge, fluffy lather is not my friend. For those concerned, however, it's not hard to make either type of lather without sousing or blooming. You just gotta make sure your wrist is not limp when you load the puck. :innocent

Sorry, wasn’t on the thread to respond to your questions.
I’m one that prefers the LC by a slight margin, but agree with Andrew that these are my favourite two Gillettes.
I don’t believe the Goodwill is as common.
Not to over complicate things, but if you go hunting, realize the ‘New Improved’ Gillettes are different and actually a little older.
