MAYhem 2018!!!!! May 19 Razor - Kampfe Star Blade - (2) Soap - Stirling Executive Man Brush - Stirling Two Banded Synthetic Post - Alum Another fine shave with the Kampfe Star. Of the two great vintage LC's Fuzzy loaned me, I think I still prefer the Gem Junior by juuuuuussssttttttt that much. The Kampfe left me a bit warm on the alum again and just seems a bit touchier on angle. There's nothing wrong with that at at all. Just a personal preference growing. Would I add a Kampfe to my collection? Do you really need to ask? But I think I would find the right Gem Junior first, then the Kampfe. I used the Stirling Executive Man soap and the two banded brush for the shave and had the usual flawless Stirling lather. The Treet carbon blade was still smooth and effective so no worries there. No blood, just a bit of extra heat from the alum, and the finish is a solid DFS. Thunderstorms rolling through periodically here today which is much better than if it had done it last weekend! Hope yours has been great!
Excellent progress! So have the Dark Side guys let you have any cookies yet or are they pushing for perfection before sharing?

Clint sent me those cookies a while back as an inducement to the dark side, but I haven’t gone through the initiation ceremony yet. I’ve heard they have punch and cookies afterwards, however I remain cautiously optimistic about finding cookies on the dark side. As for the initiation, until I can eliminate the hair on my neck and shave without irritation, I won’t consider myself worthy. Straights are a weekend thing for me, so this could take a while.
May 20, 2018 Wolfman WR Ti .74 OC with Triad Ti Aristocrat Feather “Tres Amigos” Desert Ironwood with Envy White Nuàvia Blu I have enjoyed a nice slow morning. I had time for several cups of coffee before taking Mocha out for her morning patrol of the neighborhood. She likes to think of that as her job and my exercise. The Envy White knot has such a wonderful scrub and backbone that it makes face lathering a joy. The knot has such flow through that I have to make sure and load enough product. With the Nuàvia Blu providing a nice slick lather and luxurious scent, I went with a three pass shave. I have altered the pattern to WTG, ATG and XTG followed by touch ups along my jawline and lower neck. Since I had the time, I buffed my lower right neck and caught the baby. Asha and I are going to visit my Mom for the day which should be fun. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.
Thank you Jim. I try to visit my Mom at least 2-3 times a month. Generally, I take her out to eat and shopping if she wants. It will be nice to have Asha along for the day.
Second straight shave in a row today. Less irritation, but still trying to figure out the whole stubble on the neck conundrum. Still requires DE cleanup. I’ve got a new razor coming from @Keithmax to mix it up a bit. Hopefully before then some experimentation and practice will yield results.

I hope everyone is well! Great three pass shave this morning. Another DFS +. Eight quality shaves from the Bolzano. Started to tug on the atg pass, on to the next blade. New soap and aftershave in the den today, JoHS. No problems whipping up a slick protective lather. I like the scent and I like that I don't have anything else quite like it. Have a great day guys! May 20, 2018 Razor: British Gillette FB Tech Blade: 7 O'Clock Permasharp Stainless (1) Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22 Soap: Williams Post: Alum, Listerine, WH Andrew, @Linuxguile, sent along a couple of blades for me to try as part of a recent package. First up is the 7 O'Clock Permasharp Stainless (a.k.a., Indian Green). I couldn't find a lot of recent reviews of this blade and the ones I did read seemed a bit mixed. Still, I was curious to give it a go. The blade is a modern product of a classic British company manufactured in a former British colony. The razor was made in a time when India was still a colony and was probably also produced under the 7 O'Clock brand. The result? A "jolly good" shave. The pairing was very smooth and efficient and, for a first shave, the blade seemed right up there with, say, the Russian-made Nacet. BBS with no issues except for a mild sting from the Alum. I'm currently planning to stay with this blade for a few days and see how it holds up. Tomorrow will probably be the FB Tech again and, after that, the Sterling Tech. Best wishes to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and God Save The Queen!
Rockwell 6C ~ 6 Plate (Polsilver SI) Zenith Boar Soapy Science, Doc’s Special Blend My tub of Soapy Science turned up this week while I was on the road. After reading all the reviews, I really wanted to put it through a serious test, to see if it’s really a good soap, or if everyone was just being nice to a junior high school girl. I’ve got news for you: Even after one shave, I can tell you that it’s good soap. The tubs are big and easy to use. The scent of the Doc’s Blend is minty, and spicy, with citrus. It was powerful enough stand up and be noticed while making lather. The soap is harder than artisan soaps I’m used to. I weighed the tub before I started, and after I had what I determined to be a power load, I had only used 1.2 grams in the big boar. It gave me enough super goopy, shiny lather to do three passes: It was getting thin by the third pass. I’m not blaming the soap at all. For the small amount I loaded, it made a very large amount of lather, that held up well for the first two passes. If there was a shortfall, it was from me needing to load more soap. The cool part, is that I really pushed its upper limit with the water, and know how slick this stuff can get. It’s slick. Right up there with top tier soaps. I took four days growth off with a DE, which is my least favorite choice for a heavy shave, and it was comfortable as could be. I did zero prep, just really worked the soap into my beard with the boar. Residual was great, and even on the thin last pass, plenty slick. I didn’t rinse my face until I had put everything away, then rinsed with cold water, and skipped aftershave. Post shave was really good. Again, right up there with my favorites. Today, I am going to use it again and make sure I get a really heavy load. If this soap can hold a stable super goop, the kid has a serious winner.
So just for fun, I made a bowl of lather from the Soapy Science. Put three grams in the bowl. I got this: Ten minutes later: Twenty: Thirty: That girl made some crazy good soap.
NDC Super Speed TopCare(1) Fendrihan Synthetic William's Mug Shaving Soap Speick AS Splash Speick AS Balsam Aloe Vera Last night, I took my Mom shopping, and while at the grocery store saw some store brand de blades and William's, which inspired me to create my own version of a Mayhem shave. The lather on the William's was incredibly runny, lather was flying everywhere, it was very slick. Did 3 passes and got a DFS+, with a lot of razor burn on my neck, and a few nicks. Finished the shave off with a healthy dose of Aloe Vera, to calm the razor burn. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
