  5. Thanks Clint! First use of the soap and I like it. Like I said earlier it's different than anything else I have. As Jason @Jtsparten said it's a tobacco forward scent.

  6. Thank you Jim. I’m not very good at describing scents. I just know if I like it or not.

  7. You should start out with a membership to the Junior Auxiliary, they aren't as strict on results. Of course at their meetings, they serve juice boxes and Chips Ahoy. You have to step up to the big boys to get the good stuff. Here was the spread at our Christmas party.

  8. Nice setup, Jim! I have that aftershave and it's one of my favorites. Terrific scent.

  9. MAYhem - Down hill run

    Mystic Water Raspberry Lemon
    B-400 Tuxedo synthetic brush
    Suribachi bowl & cool water
Gillette Red Tip, Astra SP blade
Pinaud Lime Sec Eau De Cologne
SOTD 05202018.gif This is my most tempting soap to avoid tasting. Skipped the menthol eucalyptus preshave so as not to change the scent. Easy to lather in my softish water and the shea butter & lanolin make up for a veggie base. Slick with all the residual slide I could ask for. The Astra is holding up well on it's fourth use in the Gillette. DFS but for a touch of stubble still on my chin. Enjoying the hydrating after effects of the soap so I skipped the alum. Finished with Jolly Rancher Sour Lime scented AS.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

  12. I’m a go big or go home kinda guy. I’m holding out for those thin white iced ones people make around Christmas. In the meantime Charlie has threatened, er, I mean graciously offered some fruitcake to those of us in the teeming masses.
  13. Hope you had a nice visit with your Mom. Happy Sunday amigo!

  14. Why not the best of both worlds? My grandmother used to make fruitcake cookies.

  15. Pure necessity, or at least I thought so. Have bought 2 'new' Razors, 1 is actually new and just out of kick-start, the Qshave Parthenon. No clue if it'll arrive in May, as I'm one of the last having ordered one. (Pledging funds after the item is already being shipped sounds wrong) The other is new to me, but 5 years older then I am, a '67 Gillette Slim Adjustable. No clue what to expect. I'm now using a Gillette Slim Twist, but the loading mechanism is showing some play, which results in a not to perfect positioning of the blade from time to time. (with the usual bloody result)

So for me it's new kit, although now I'm trying other techniques, they may be a bit overkill for a good shave. (but still, 1 complete new razor, all mine... :D )

Oh, and a Schick Krona is expected, traded a Matador De Luxe for it with one of the members here, the Matador had a to short handle for my long hands and he wanted it. (was surprised about the shipping cost, but will get a usable razor for it)
  16. Thanks, Bud. This stuff is the real deal. Kinda cool a school girl put it together.

Of course, we have all seen that Pinewood Derby car. Either way, the kid’s in on it, and it’s really good soap. Win/Win.
  17. I would probably punt a puppy out of my way, while bowling over a greandmother, to get at a fruitcake cookie.
  18. That soap does smell fantastic. Makes me think of a nice tropical adult beverage.

  20. Welcome to The 30 Day Crew @T_I! If you had a chance to read Neal's @NCoxSTL opening statement one of the ideas is that with proper technique anyone can shave with any razor or blade, assuming it's not damaged equipment.
Your new razor is so new I haven't read any reviews. That Gillette Slim is good old vintage brass and should serve you well. Plenty of them around, and folks who've used them so don't be shy about asking questions. You'll get plenty of cheerleading from most of us, plus coaching as needed.
