Not sure where you guys are going with this, I just don’t always want to throw water on my soap. Well, I maybe think about it. If it was the right soap.
Oh, I think you've got it figured out. No one is cis-dry-soap. Lather requires water + soap + air, and a bit of agitation. How the water meets the soap is a personal choice. I don't have an issue with rubbing a stick straight on your face. Others like it hot, in a scuttle or bowl. Was I misguided making a Safe Space for pre-hydrating latherers?
In my experience water composition makes a big difference in how soaps perform and sometimes requires a different technique. When I travel some of my best soaps drop in performance while under performers turn into stars when I travel.
Not at all. It is consistent with the broad meaning of the term. The first definition given by Merriam-Webster is "to annoy, disturb, or persecute especially with hostile intent or injurious effect." It has had that meaning for longer than the English language has been around. You may not personally use the word in that sense. Many of us do. I think that you are reading too much into what people are actually saying.
Semantics? Love this... Molestation is an act that occurs to a sentient being; as one cannot persecute, be hostile toward, nor cause injury to an inanimate object. People who use the word molestation, in the way you describe, do so incorrectly. Adulterated better applies to inanimate objects.
That's my motivation in discussing the matter. A minimalist latherer might; 1) wet his face 2) rub soap stick into stubble 3) apply a brush to face lather The other end of that spectrum - the maximalist latherer who doesn't walk the narrow path. His procedure; a) wet the soap b) rub brush on the soap c) apply soapy brush to stubble Oh... not much of a difference there. Copacetic?
If you care about your soap, you might gently (as not to offend) suggest that it (he?, she? you didn't say) peruse a different thread. Be loving and compassionate, as soaps can be very sensitive. Or, a visit with Dr. Phil might be in order.
My soap is conservative! And will not cross dress as a soft soap! (Some soaps are soft, that's OK, some aren't and that's OK too!!!)
Perhaps, now I recognize this is a radical thought, but bear with me, perhaps non-bloomers could be liberated to pursue non-blooming on threads not specifically created for bloomers? Oh, perish the thought!
