You aren't the only one in the less (scent) is more group. I'm not - I like my products full of flavor, but I understand the desire to not have a face full of someone else's scent choices. Check with 30 DC Member John @John Ruschmeyer for suggestion about unscented or low scent products.
I've read about folks who like the performance of Arko shave soap, but not the scent. Using a cheese grater to expose maximum surface area followed by an airing out the scent can be quickly reduced.

Tuesday May 22 - I can shave again!

I adopted Fuzzy @wchnu's suggestion and found a stool-like clothes hamper I could drag close to my bathroom sink to perch against. I had to sit sideways because of my stiff knee and couldn't get right over the sink, so a fair amount of splashing and then cleanup was involved. And i had to spend more effort holding myself up then I could doing proper skinstretching. Despite all that, I managed two honest passes that took me from an 11-day stubble field down to a CCS. Next shave will drop that back to my normal DFS/near BBS.

And I feel cleaner and 100% more human than I did twenty minutes ago. The chilly menthol burst of the splash was the perfect finish to a great shave.

The Personna blade still seems to have plenty of life left at 19 shaves; the Vitos Eucalyptus shaving cream has about a week left in its ring of death.

Thank you Jason. Even though this knot is broken in, it has remained very tight and compact without a lot of splay.

Excellent news John. It is amazing how much better just a shave makes you feel when recovering. I know it always made me feel better.

Sounds like a much needed shave, John. Some fun logistics as well.

It reminded me of a piece of advice a character gave in a Louis L'Amour novel (probably something Louis himself picked up in his early vagabond life period): Before coming into a strange town after being on the road for awhile, always stop first and shave and then polish your boots. A freshly cleanshaven face and neat polished footwear will make the difference between being treated like a respectable traveller and a suspicious tramp.

    MAYhem Old School Option

    Vintage Williams Stick
    30 DC LE Cashmere
    Gillette NEW LC DE
    Polsilver Super Iridium
    Barbasol Brisk AS
SOTD 05222018 Polsilver SI (1st), B.Brisk.gif No prehydrating today's soap. Unless you count splashing my face with cool tap water before I rubbed the stick on my face. Shook out the excess water from the brush and face lathered. It wasn't my usual bowl of super goopish mix. Added water a couple times as it seemed dry and pasty at first. Took my first pass and collected the "used" lather from the OC on the brush to make sure I'd have enough for the rest of the shave. Fresh blade in the old Gillette performed well. Second and clean up passes with a little more water added let me know I wouldn't have lacked lather. Skipped the alum, and the AS let me know it's been a while since I used this blade holder. Quick sting before the menthol kicked in and soothed. An error free and very close DFS result.
    Good Shaves Y'all!
