As I replace the soaps, I am tending to go with harder or triple milled higher end soaps as well. I broke down and ordered the SV Aromatic Fern Soap yesterday for the girls to give me as a gift. My commute is bad each day. On average it is 45 minutes or so and I don't even get on major highways which are even worse. If I make it to retirement, I certainly hope to retire to a place with less traffic.
@Baylor Gator Samurai Intervention Time: Forget about results. Wield the blade. You simply have not done this long enough to even be frustrated. Like @Keithmax states, it takes around 100 days to get anything resembling full competence. Placing too much emphasis on results at this point will misalign your expectations with actual reality. Only increasing frustration.... Your neck need not be BBS to sling premium ice cream to the free world on a Tuesday. Pick a razor, learn it, and love it. It will love you back. Reality? You are doing well.
My commute is bedroom to bathroom to office on landing opposite said bedroom. Of course there’s a diversion downstairs to the kitchen for coffee .......
Thanks, Chris. I'm considering making this my signature: "Your neck need not be BBS to sling premium ice cream to the free world on a Tuesday." Love it!
You're welcome. I've been doing shavette forever now, but it's pretty much like SR, so here it goes: Neck: Lift chin up, look up. This will cause you to actually be looking down your nose and cheek at the mirror. Don't lean in for a better view. Place your off hand above your clavicle and pull the skin of the throat down. This move stretches the skin simultaneously from opposing directions. The goal is then to gently wipe away the lather with the bevel presented at a low angle. It takes some practice to get to BBS, and razor burn will occur as you adjust to the grips and pressure. But, it will get better and more consistent over time.
Shout out To Brian @mrchick , Was just thinking that we haven't seen you in a while. Hope things are well!
Agreed. Also hello to Doug @Douglas Carey -- I know I see a post from you on various threads every now and then. Just hoping things are continuing alright with you. You continue to be in my prayers.
I'm trying not to compile a list and to practice contentment and learnt to enjoy what I have. And paying extra money on more pressing things. So it's a bit different mindset when it's less of a year long no-buy and more of a long term mindset. The end is not in sight! Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
I was thinking the same thing. Starting to miss that goalie-mask avatar, but more importantly, his posts.
