Yup I'm going to give it a spin for old times sake. It's in there tight as a drum, smells ok too. It really came to life after that soak in Dawn and later Stirling Sharp Dressed Man.
HI - apologies for gatecrashing your thread guys, but I am excited. I have been working on this for a while and these are the prototypes with badger, horse and boar knots respectively. Handsome or what ? Note: Removable ferrule. Badger Horse Boar
Well, this is my second entry in the "400 Club". Both are remakes. This one is a Solid Aluminum one, from RazoRock. I have to say, it is very well made, and it doesn't have a removable ferrule. The knot it has in it is a Synthetic one, that does a very nice job, and is soft. But, I don't care for this knot much, and I couldn't order the handle without one. I have ordered a High Mountain Badger knot, from Whipped Dog, and with any luck, I might be able to remove the knot, without much damage. I will try heating it up, with some steam first. So, here it is: RazoRock 400. Solid Aluminum. Synthetic Knot. Here it is, next to the other Remake I own. Left: "The Brush B400" By Tom(@twhite ) . With a Whipped Dog Boar Knot. Excellent finish, Excellent feel. Right: "RazoRock 400". From The Italian Barber. Synthetic Knot. Very soft, and lathers well. Both handles have identical dimensions, and feel like the same weight. The B400 By Tom, has a much shinier finish. I believe the RazoRock is advertising theirs is Anodized. Perhaps that dulls it some.
Monday, May 28 First outing with the 400. Can't lie...kinda stinky! I forgot to pre-wash the knot. Right now it's bathed in Proraso Green lather for a few, or more hours. Love the handle. The loft at 63mm is by far the tallest in my arsenal and let me tell you, it tore up the WSO! Funny, I have never had to look for a comfortable grip on a brush before, but today I experimented with a few. It's a joy to use and unique in my den. Anyone know how to date them?
Your number 3 sure is a beauty. I believe they where made in the mid 50's for a short period of time. Now you need the other 2.
