    May 29

Razor - 1918 Gillette Old Style
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Soap - Soap Commander Courage
Brush - Stirling Two Banded Synthetic
    Post - Alum

Staying aggressive old school tonight as I went back to the 1918 Gillette with Sharp Star. Soap Commander and the Stirling brush for the most ridiculously easy lather I've ever whipped up. Seriously. Effortless. Slick. Cushy. Perfection.

Two full passes and some touch up and it's a perfect finish. Alum is quiet, no blood, just another very nice and above average shave. Just what I needed as I try to make one more day to my weekend. I'm tired, cranky, but at least the shaves are working. Lots of catching up to do on here but I'll get to that. And....with only two days to go.....it's time to start figuring out the basic/starter/cheap/effective gear I want to use in June!

A great shave is an excellent way to brighten up a rainy dreary morning. The herbal medicinal scent of MdC was prominent as I loaded and face lathered. Sticking with my modified 2 pass shave followed by touch ups along my jawline and lower neck ended in a near perfect shave. A splash of Agua Balsamica paired well with the MdC. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.

Had a great shave with the Stoylin Spice(soap&A.S.). Then I put it in the back of the den/bus for fall&winter. Just a little to warm for this time of year.

An eventful morning this morning. First a shave review (to be posted later today on my review thread) of K-Shave Works - Hump Day. Then as I was leaving for work, I noticed a package sitting next to the door on the way out. (No-one ever tells me when there's mail for me; I'm usually just left to "discover" it.) Anyway, it was my 6/8 amboyna scaled straight razor from @Keithmax. The eagle has landed! Yesterday, when finishing up the moustache area, I made a rookie side to side motion and made another small "skin flap". Almost unnoticeable, but enough to catch a blade on going N-S, so I may let it heal up before employing the straight again. That should give me enough time to finish up several soap reviews that have been hanging in the balance. Happy hump day, gentlemen.

DW and I spent 12 hours yesterday at NYU Medical Center trying to get to the root of her current round of intractable nausea. The bad news is that we still don't have an answer, but at least they were able to rule out the more ominous possible causes. Before we left for NY, however, I was able to get in a very satisfying shave with the Red Tip and Derby Premium. Good enough that I skipped shaving this morning in order to get in earlier to work.

Wow, another wicked looking kami, Keith!
I really got to try me a Soap Commander setup!
    Excellent shot, Clint!
You're teasing Clint by showing off your Karve, you know that don't you Jim! Looks beautiful.

Thank you Andrew. I know what Jim is doing. Teasing me with the photos. At least he is not raving about the shaves which would make it even worse.

Thanks. A bit of background... she had a Gastric Bypass back in 2002 and has had Gastroparesis and chronic nausea ever since. This appears to be due to a combo of structural issues with the "pouch" and nerve damage. For the past month, though, the pattern of her nausea has changed. We initially though it was from a virus/flu as we were all sick around then, but the issues continued. We went yesterday to see the Bariatric surgeon (not the one who did the original surgery) to rule out a stricture or other obstruction. Now we need to follow up with the GI.
