Post: Witch hazel, RazoRock Blue Barbershop aftershave

Back to the Jeeves after a couple of Stirling shaves on the road. Still trying to finish this sucker off. It's a terrific soap and I've enjoyed using it almost exclusively the last month. Nice shave with the classic plate on the Supply injector. Short strokes and strict focus on angle yields nice results. All around nice shave.

I just ordered three samples of different scents. I've had this tub for well over a year. It was an enabling gift and I haven't used it as much as some others, but every time I do I feel bad for ignoring it for so long. Uber-slick and protective and as easy or easier to lather than Arko with my synthetics. Even with a traditional brush it's a breeze. It's a vegan soap as well, which isn't usually my preference (I'm a tallow guy - moo and baaaaa) but this is one fine product.

Pulled the Gem Jr out early this morning. Hadn't used it in ages and have no idea of the number of shaves on the blade. Whipped up the usual, outstanding Jeeves lather. The soap is quite lightly scented, but that is the only complaint. Had 3 good passes and this really is an intuitive, user friendly razor. Didn't do so well on one spot on my neck, but I pulled the Alum and it let me know there was very little irritation. The blade is nearing the end, and I'd probably toss it before I use this razor again.

Hmmm...have to give some thought to gear for June as well. Don't mind saying I am not super stoked for the theme initially. Perhaps my most common utilitarian razors? Who knows.

So I am on page 72, and haven't been able to catch up on the thread. I will try to post my shaves later tonight. Did I miss anything?

 

I had to look that one up. I'm a sucker for information even if I don't buy the products. Lots of scent going on, but I'm wary of bay leaf, clove, and the variations on pine.
When I first read the shave report it reminded me that June is almost here. My father has an issue with June Bugs - they eat the leaves on his pecan trees. His cure is a gallon bucket half full of soapy water hanging under an outside light at night. The fat greasy bugs fly to the light, fall in the bucket, and drown. After a couple days of catching bugs the bucket takes on a certain odor. My children named it "The Bucket of Death". I'm sure your Jitterbug is a much more pleasant experience.

I had a hard time making out what your younger daughter said, but the older one - was she quoting Braveheart? "Freedom!!"

 

I pray they get it figured out soon, John.
