How many brushes of each type do you own? (and do you have one favourite go-to brush?) I own:
    Badger: 4
    Synthetic: 1
    Horse: 2
    Boar: 6
    Favourite: Simpsons Special Badger

I don't have that many, but one boar in particular get's more love than the rest.

I have 4 brushes that see any use.

3 - Semogue BC Mistura (Mixed Boar / Badger)
1 - Semogue BC Texugo (Badger)

For the last 5 years, my favorite by far has been the mixed knot Semogue. I ended up with 3 of them and pretty much abandoned and sold off or gave away most of my other brushes. (I have 2 other brushes here. One is my father's Vulfix 404 mixed knot and the other is a handle gifted to me by @oscar11. The knot was too low for my liking and I removed with plans to re-knot it at a higher loft. About the same time Semogue released the Barbear Classico brushes and it has languished in a box for too long.

    9 synthetic
    2 badger
One boar was reknotted to a synth
    2 boars given away
    2 synthetics given away

My 4 WildWestBrushWorks synthetics get the most use.

    RyX DoH!

Three synthetic. four badger, five boar.

The badger see the least use as I've relegated them to creams. I started with boar brushes, enjoy breaking in a new one, and lacking inspiration will use them first. Synthetics are making headway in my den. They lather as well as a boar on hard soaps, but have the softness of the badgers I've experienced.

One synthetic, three boar, one pure badger (plus another that I'm convinced is kitten fur), and one horse.

The horse is pretty much my travel brush. Normally, I rotate between the synth, the pure badger, and one of the boars.

I feel like an oddball here. My favorite is a mixed knot boar badger brush and I haven't seen any others mentioned...

You're not an oddball. I also had a BC Mistura. Loved it. It was simply a bit too small for me. Probably one of Semogue's BEST brushes.

    I have 10 total:

3 boar, but that includes a vintage Simms travel brush that is more a collectible than a regular user
    3 badger
    4 synthetic

At one point I owned 26 brushes but this year I weeded them heavily. The ones that are left are the ones I like and use regularly, except for the Simms which is just a neat collectible.

I'm thinking some of these collections need to be seen in a photo....a few may need a wide angle lens!

Enough of them that I’m not actually sure how many.

I have a few favorites, but couldn’t pick one. I love my badgers the most.
