I am praying for your wife. My wife suffers from a form of gastroparesis as well, and is constantly nauseous. After years of doctor visits we are no closer to an answer as to what is actually behind her gastro issues. I hope that you will find answers quickly.

I don't know about hair tonic (mostly bald and shave my head on the regular) but I do splash Osage on my head during warmer months. It feels quite nice.

Razor: '41 Gillette Aristocrat "One Piece Razor"
    Blade: 7 O'Clock Permasharp Stainless (1)
    Brush: VdH Boar
    Soap: Williams
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

It's the last day of MAYhem and I'm back with a first shave on a new-to-me razor. This '41 Aristocrat was a lucky recent eBay purchase. It's my first pre-War Gillette TTO and, to be honest, had me a bit concerned about aggressiveness as I had heard that the '46-'47 ones were among the most aggressive. I needn't have worried.

I'm a bit concerned that something might be a bit out of alignment on this razor as it seemed like one side was a touch more aggressive than the other; neither side, however, was overly so. The result was a very close and satisfying shave with no issues or irritation. Definitely an interesting razor.

Plate 4 for me seems to be the sweet spot, I need that little bit of aggression to get those stubborn hairs on mid neck. I will also say this once I figured it, the Rockwell became my absolute favorite razor, just as Jared said it would. How's the recovery coming?

Not sure if I'll shave today, so here's my recap.

Short and sweet. I originally set out to titanic the Jeeves Bay Rum soap while going through all my injectors. Then @PickledNorthern sent me a box of goodies along with the Supply injector on loan. So I changed focus on razors and used the Supply several times. The Jeeves soap is almost finished off and I enjoyed using all the various injectors I have. I'm continuing to hone in on the Supply razor and the shaves with it are improving each time.

It was a fun month of shaves with some definite MAYhem going on. Fun to watch! I'll be back in June to continue with the fun.

Baxter of California Shave Tonic and ASB

I have never gotten an extraordinary shave out of this razor, until today! Went full on skin stretching with every pass and the razor glided so smoothly over my face. No feeling from the blade and the longer Weber Classic handle made holding the angle effortless. Also after watching a few videos from Dr Matt on YouTube I decided to try using a baby washcloth to facilitate skin stretching, it worked great! No irritation and BBS makes for some great faceturbation. Epic! Have a great day my friends!

Thank you Andrew, feels good to finally have some setups I can consistently get great shaves with. To say it's been a bit of struggle the last few months is an understatement. But with the advice gained here, some perseverance, and setup consistency i finally nailed it.

    Screwtape A Shaving Butterfly

I saw the surgeon yesterday for a followup and everything is healing together well. However I need to spend another month or so keeping any weight off that leg before gradually working it back to full use. I found my x-ray rather eye-opening: when the doctor said he used a couple plates and some screws to lock everything in place, he really meant that my leg below the knee is now sheathed in steel and has enough large screws running completely through it to stock a small hardware section. I expect I will be triggering metal detectors in future.
