    Glacial Black Cherry it was.

A cold water shave with the Stirling Tuxedo and California Framer. A wonderous freeze and scent.

I just got my Stirling Iced Pineapple soap and A/S splash yesterday and used them today. First a shout out to Stirling for their customer service (right there with Maggards IMO). I received these two business days after ordering. I had a great shave this morning with the Iced Pineapple. It is plenty cold me. It felt like a cold winter day in Northern Michigan where I live. I don't know how you guys with the Glacial handle the coldness. But even more than the cold, I was impressed with the scent - this stuff is fantastic if you like pineapple (which I do). It smelled just like a freshly cut pineapple. The scent was magnificent. Great stuff!

Glacial Sandpiper??? Mine has Menthol tossed in...perhaps is that what you mean?

I love the Glacial level of cold, but I’m learning to only use it when I’m alone and not rushed. The face freeze takes away some important feedback feel, and I tend to shave with a heavier hand if not paying attention.

When ordering an AS from Stirling you can choose two levels of menthol, regular and glacial. Glacial as you are aware really packs a menthol kick!

I got the stamp of approval from SWMBO on the scent of Glacial Lemon Chill aftershave a couple of days ago. She's a tough critic on aftershave scents. Most mornings I leave early enough and she's still asleep, so it's worn off mostly by the time I get home. But the summer is different. She likes the Lemon Chill thankfully.

Well in my quest for a summer cooler, I have continued to try Stirling samples. Orange Chill was a good performer for me but a touch mild on smell and chill. In case my impressions resulted from other factors, I will keep trying. It is such a great smell and I wanted a bit more of it.

Frozen Tundra was up today, and until my eyes began to water, I thought the chill would also be too mild. In fact, this is the perfect level of cold for me: medium strong while shaving and just after but pretty much gone 15 minutes later (though now I am tempted by the balm).

A few things different between OC and FT. Today I had the soaps dialed in better than when I used OC a few days ago by using more water than usual so the FT was silkier and better performing. The FT fragrance and chill is much stronger than OC for me. Would the increased quality of my lather partly explain these differences? I'm not sure.

My last Summer chill sample is MITA so then I will have a three way comparison. So far I want to like OC the best, but the FT is ahead. [IMG]

You and Mr. Luddite have set me straight here, thanks. My sample of Sandpiper was regular..I should have stuck with that. But the menthol addition turned out fine.

I’m not sure menthol/menthol +P is really that needed for the aftershave splashes. I use them for the scent rather than skin conditioning, and a little goes a long ways. Witch hazel & Aloe and the Balm are much better for full-face after action conditioning, and menthol is really nice then.

Good point. That day in the supermarket where I was given the "sniff test" by a lady in our checkout line-would she have done the same if I had "Glacial Clubman"? (Not there is such a scent).

Never forget, there are two kind of being “sniff tested”by a lady. Only one is good.

I was wearing Arkadia a few days ago and got the first semi-smile and cordial dialogue from my female mailman in five years. I can’t attribute the situation to anything other than how awesome I smelled.

Of course this is only my hypothesis, and a weak one, as she has a wife.

If she’ll just quit talking out her anger on my packages I’ll be ecstatic. Maybe I should splash some Arkadia inside the box.:D

I keep forgetting about Arkadia. That's a really nice scent as well. I had a bath soap sample in that scent and quite enjoyed it.

Let me reply to your commentary that I would have to write "No comment" as the lady who whiffed my Clubman didn't say anything to me.

Well my hypothesis is shot. Today I was wearing Clubman when she dropped off my Black Rifle Coffee order and she was friendly again! Other factors must be at play.

All kidding aside, I wear various fragrances for ME, and I really enjoy them. I also think that almost any scent is better than my natural one so there’s no way to lose...............other than the Veg.

I've said before, Veg is one Clubman in which I am not interested. Another-the Bay Rum.
