I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The LaToja Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #292 High Mountain White badger brush. I did two passes with the Gem 1907 Lather Catcher Razor with an Original Gem Cutlery SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Peach WH and then Tabac AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Good morning friends. A very fine three pass shave today with the PAL Injecto-Matic. Excellent lather from the TFS Ginestra Di Taormina shave soap. Acceptable performance from this old Fine 20mm synthetic but i was quickly reminded why i no longer use any of my other brushes. The Semogue 620 is just perfect for my face lathering needs. Smooth and refreshed, enjoy your day friends. ☺️

Absolute worst shave I've ever had, bar none! And I've been shaving for over 50 years. In fact, yesterday's shave was the 2nd worst of all time. The reason you ask? OK. It's not the cream, it's not the brush, it's not the razor, it's not the blade, it's not the aftershave and it's not my technique.

For a minor vascular issue, my doctor recommended taking Maca root capsules. I've been taking them about 10 days now. A few days ago, I developed a rash on my forearms and chest. Thought it might be poison ivy as I had cut back some serious underbrush around that time. The rash didn't really blister like poison ivy and by yesterday it spread to my neck and face. Tiny, red bumps that itch like crazy. Yesterday's shave really irritated my face. Especially the jawline. Even splashing cold water on it stung after my shave let alone the Pinaud VIBR I splashed on. WOW!

So today, I used Barbasol with aloe. Could only stand 1 pass, no touch ups. Couple weepers, but what a crummy shave. Painful. Should have skipped a day or two I suppose. Finished with HBG Bay rum. Very soothing.

Seems rashes, hives and itchy skin are a common allergic reaction to Maca in some folks. Lucky me. Rant over.

Today's shave was exceptional. I got a super close shave, uber smooth. One of those that you just keep feeling, wondering what exactly went so right. Yeah technique means allot, but i have good technique. I get very nice shaves with whatever razor i choose. But sometimes, thunderstruck happens. Today i used a new brush, from @Vlasta . He has improved upon perfection. His T-400 feels very luxurious. Coupled with a very dense silvertip, wow, rubberwho? Y'all heard it here first folks, the new hot item in gotta have shaving. I ended this nirvana endeavour with the best a man can get, Gillette Cool Wave. Uber smooth, smellin' great, and can't wait till it's time to shave again.
