Same software set up as yesterday.
Loaded the M&F carefully with the CL Pure Lavender. (Never, EVER thought those words would come out of my mouth!)

I also backed off ever-so slightly the tightening down of the Senator TTO. Good results.
The fresh Personna 74 didn't disappoint; buffing galore. :) BBS in 2+.
Now to the scent...what I am smelling as I type is the AS. There is some added ingredient that is somewhat off-putting.
Dare I say...quite similar to BO. :shocked029: Gotta check with SWMBO.
The soap exhibited no real foul odor, indeed the lavender is quite nice from the lather.

My main use of the Deluxe was head shaves. I used it for that for over a year before deciding it was stupid to keep a soap around just for that one purpose. At the time I was heading toward having only three soaps in the den, MWF, Tabac, and Arko along with only a couple of brushes. My minimalist period. From perusing the shelves I'd say I came out of that with no problem.

Using shampoo on it also helps. Wash and rinse a couple times and you should see a significant difference.

I contemplated a drug store shave yesterday, but I thought the other shoppers might be irritated, and have those nice men with the shiny badges insist I spend the night at one of their luxury hotels.

    Good morning gentlemen!

Another great shave today! BBS face and DFS+ neck. A little more warmth from the alum today but nowhere was it hot. I feel clean and refreshed, ready to go out and run errands.

    Have a great Sunday guys![IMG]

For the first time since my oldest was born, my wife and I are on a getaway weekend at a marriage retreat. Lots of fun and good times. I skipped yesterday, but had a great shave this morning. I hope everyone has been doing well.

A couple of notes on today's shave- The blade is not exactly a drugstore blade unless your drugstore happens to be in Mumbai. Similarly, the razor is not exactly a drugstore razor unless your drugstore happens to be in 1956 (or the Twilight Zone). Still, thanks to the Internet, both are available to new wet shavers easily and for relatively little cost.

As for the soap, I took a look at my container of Williams and realized that all that was left was a little piece. Instead of chasing it around the cup, I moved it from its microclimate into the Marvy one, plopping it on top. So, today's lather was probably mostly Williams with just a hint of Marvy. I think I may play with this for a bit, maybe add a bit of glycerin, and see what happens. I need to find a local store with Williams, though, as both my Shop Rite and Walgreens have stopped carrying it.

Okay, on to the shave... Good lather, good blade, and good razor. A very satisfying shave with no issues except one weeper from a technique fail.

For those who might be wondering, the residual pink on this razor is settling into a nice coppery brown.

Lazy Sunday shave today. This is as basic and back to the start as I can go. First DE razor, one of the first soaps to go with it, the WD 2 band from my first decent brush and Thayers to finish. I didn’t use an AS splash for the first month or so, looking back on it.
Nice shave today, and I’ll look to keep this soap and razor together for a 3rd day tomorrow. Maybe with some Drugstore OS.
    Have a great evening, all!
