I don’t know if I just got a good one or if all Weishi’s are this good, but I get some of the best and smoothest shaves off of this razor.

Tonight's shave was superb. I had a great 2 pass shave, that mowed down 2 days growth, easily. I ended up with a BBS. Excellently made razor, that takes a great edge.

    Brush- JR #262, Ebony/Birdseye Maple.
    Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy
Aftershave- Vintage Avon Spicy. Viking Horn Decanter. The wife Reallllly likes this one.

Man, that sucks. Yeah, you need to take a break from shaving for a few days. You'll hear plenty of recommendations for treatment of your rash, but honestly even oatmeal creams and other remedies could potentially make things worse in the presence of impaired integrity. In the absence of any contraindications, aspirin 650 mg twice daily is a good option and possibly diphenhydramine (Benadryl) 25 mg every night for a few days. Otherwise avoid anything harsh and avoid sunlight. I hope you improve quickly. Take care!

Sounds like fun Guy. I'm sure you enjoyed the time together. I spent Saturday with with my younger son and we went to the Maggard's meet while today was mowing my wife's Aunt's extremely over grown jungle, in mean lawn! But later we smoked/grilled some tasty venison burgers and I took the whole gang out for ice creams, finally breaking in the new ride and enjoying the weather.

It was the first use of the Glacial Obsidian products today. I picked them up at the Maggard meet yesterday with my younger son and actually bumped into the Shave Wizard while in line to pay! Good time and great people. I highly recommend trying both Obsidian and the meet. Everyone says Stirling makes some chilly stuff and this is delivers. I was not sure how shaving with Anise would be, but I'm a huge fan of black jelly beans so I guess that helps. The scent from the container is a bit odd because of the strong menthol combined with the anise, but when lathered up, it works really well. I was not sure I would like the splash because it is a bit odd to smell like licorice, but it isn't overpowering and the strength is just right for the chill. The unpredictable, yet pleasant surprise was using the Thayers Cucumber witch hazel actually enhanced the post cool down feel and provided an outstanding combination to the shave. Happy shaving guys.

Just the Basics June/Just for Fun June - take your pick

    June 3

Razor - Van Der Hagen TTO
    Blade - Generic Personna - Walgreen's version
Soap - Van Der Hagen Scented Luxury
    Brush - Omega Pro 48
Post - Alum, Stetson (Monday morning)

Well water is an amazing thing. We have to drink it or we die. It cools us off in the summer (we have a very nice pool in the complex here). It cleans up messes. It falls from the sky at random times and we call it rain. And - when you use enough of it - VDH Scented Luxury soap makes a pretty decent lather! I attacked it with a serious effort tonight, using the Omega Pro 48 well soaked and ready to go. Left the brush a bit wetter than usual and beat the puck until it gave up a nice lather in the bowl and it got better during the face lather. It's a slick lather, although I'd call it "viscous slick". But it was cushy enough to deliver a really nice feel through three passes and I did arrive at BBS in those three passes. How about the, eh? Cheap razor, cheap blade, cheap soap and a decent brush gets it done! Basically, a basic setup for a basic shave that proves that focusing on basics basically delivers!

I normally use a milder razor for the first use of a Gem stainless blade but the long Windrose handle helped calm it down whilst keeping the efficiency of the 1924.
A very nice start to the week.
    Happy Shaving one and all.
