Yes, I can tell a difference, a smooth one pass shave after a two day growth. I had it sent out to get it honed and I am sure that made a huge difference. The other difference could be my 14P was used, this was in the box and was never used. The 8/8 size felt natural to my face and shaved effortlessly around lip and chin areas. It felt like a brand new custom razor. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
I like the look of that razor. How do you find the Razorock brush? Can you share your thoughts on it?
Thank you. As far as the brush, the handle is my favorite part - very ergonomic. The knot is on the large side at 27.5mm per the website, and it does eat through some soap when loading. I’m not good at describing knots, but I feel this one is not as “pillowy” compared to some higher end Silvertips, but I like it. Tom
Doh! A Gold Dollar test razor (that's why it's numbered) from last night's testing of a new slurry stone (see the honing thread). I don't know if this is irony, sarcasm, or just plain odd but the partial tub of AdP is worth several times the razor! To test an edge though, everything else needs to be top flight and consistent. Anyway the slurry stone is peachy and the edge super smooth. The AdP was lathered with a dense, soft, and white Simpsons 58 and the shave topped off with Harris Pink. Cheers, Steve
Thiers Issard 7/8 Wolf and Sheep Just received this razor on Friday .Used it this morning to remove two days of growth .Razor was sharp but not as keen as I like .So I did a quick refresh mid -shave on my Welch Slate Remaining shave was perfect .Smooth as Silk .Love the weight and feel of this razor .
Tonight's shave was superb. I had a great 2 pass shave, that mowed down 2 days growth, easily. I ended up with a BBS. Excellently made razor, that takes a great edge. Razor- Shapleigh HDW Co. Brush- JR #262, Ebony/Birdseye Maple. Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy Aftershave- Vintage Avon Spicy. Viking Horn Decanter. The wife Reallllly likes this one.
Gonna start a week with Mr. Bartmann... “Sunday” is a great day! Dubl Duck M-3 MWF Fine Platinum to finish Enjoy your shave! Tom
Thanks Keith. I had to remove 3 chips from this one, so it was one of the worst. Some small cracks in scales but pretty nice set.
Thank you, she is a looker. I bought her from the Revisor sight. I am sucker for thumb notches, shiny gold and fancy spine work.
I deleted it from my favorites and removed it from the browser history, I banned myself from that site.

Shave #54 on the Cape. The razor has lost a little in-shave smoothness but the end results were no different from freshly honed. So I added some extra stropping after this morning's shave, 25 canvas (+5). 35 suede, and 75 cordovan (+5-10). We'll see if that helps. Soap was the always superb I Coloniali Mango Oil soap lathered with a Tulip 2. The AS was lucky Tiger followed by I Coloniali Rhubarb Softening Balm after dry down. Cheers, Steve
