I hope the trip brings you some peace and good times and memories with your family, Paul. Godspeed.

Been under the weather for the last couple of days and needed a "comfort" shave. Been reading that lavender and peppermint are good for nausea, so I pulled out my Sudsy Soapery Peppermint & Lavender, my Schick E, and my Maggard Plissoft. Really only needed one pass, but did two because the scent really did help. Nothing like a nice, hot shave to get you ready for sleep. Had an epic night of rest and woke up this AM feeling a lot better.

Same goes for Florida. In addition to the above, we have hurricanes AND cartel members sleeping on the streets everywhere here. I spotted these guys this morning at the park near my house this morning.

Thank you, Jason. Right now I have 6 of them. 3 synthetics, 2 badger, and a boar. I did have 7 but I sold the silver tip to Jared @PickledNorthern because it just didn't have enough backbone for me.
A pair of fantastic shaves! Great photos Dalton!
VdH Deluxe certainly gets the job done on the cheap!
Excellent photo, Clint! I bet that big 30mm Tuxedo really beat the Fine soap into submission!
    Thank you, Patrick!
I hope you continue to feel better, Chris!

Thank you. As a family, we've spent many times in the area where we will give her a final salute. I hope MacKemzie feels better soon.

The Maggard's Meetup just happened? That's the 2nd anniversary of me learning that Rod's screen name(Stoylin, as well as his real last name)n)is pronounced "Lovin", not Low-van. My, time flies by. (I wasn't there, but saw the video of Doc Ezlovan's interview).

I would say that my Avon 4 Men is my most underrated aftershave. I don't use this one nearly as much as those in my "Den", but it's quite good. Eager to try it with my summer soaps(Razorock Acqua, Stoylin Glacial Wintergreen). You almost get the feeling that it's a Mennen Skin-Bracer clone, but it doesn't provide enough menthol.

Broke out the vintage AoS lavender gear this morning.
    The tallow soap received a
shower-length blooming and naturally did NOT disappoint.
For me, the mark of a great shave (lather, blade, razor) is the ability to buff ATG; and with this setup, that was possible.
It's been said thousands of times before, but it boggles my mind that soap manufacturers change a supremely successful formula. Can you say: "New Coke"? (Didn't the disgraced Bill Cosby pitch that fiasco?)
Finally, the boar bristles' lingering stench has dissipated. All I could sense was a very soft and subtile lavender.

The AoS ASB and ASG have a much more robust lavender, however, my experience tells me it won't last too long. What does last however, is the post shave feel that these two vintage products provide. (Again, another reformulation)
The Old Type is my oldest razor and I am so fortunate to have found one to place in my den.

Yep. It was this past weekend.
I've been meaning to ask, but keep forgetting (common theme for me). I've been here long enough to know that Stoylin = Stirling, but where did that come from? I'm sure there's a story I missed along the way...

Good morning Gents. I’m jumping back in this month. My focus this month will be giving a fresh hone to my recently unpacked stable of straight razors. I bought this one last week for $10 and honed it last night. It gave me a very nice shave.
