I have been skipping the Tabac Tuesday for far too long.

Last night was a Tabac Night Shave (06/05/2018) - I used the Cremo Vie Long Horse Hair that was for sale at Target Stores a year ago - this must be the cheapest horse knot? also my only horse knot - I just dont like it - tangles too easy - also the knot seems to loosen, after i push it in it does stay - will add some glue one of these days... I want to get a better horse hair one of these days.
Razor was just awesome - GEM Micromatic with the rare bakelite bullet tip - paired with a Rite-Aid Pharmacy Carbon blade (wich is same as walgreens and cvs carbon blades - all made at the American Razor Company in Virgina) - Just great - my skin loves Carbon SE blades that are made in america (not the Korean garbage store blades - those are reserved for Paint scraping)...

Its not too bad Paul, the knot does have a little bit of cream color to it and the lather usually turns out pure white.

 

I have several Fatboy's/Slims/Black Beauties - is the Parthenon worth it? It looks really cool and I would choose the black handle one like you did ( i love the look of black beauties) - would not surprise me if this razor is better than the old gillette,,,

German 37. A very rare single pass morning head shave, two pass for the beard as usual. Surprising efficiency with first use Bic. I started out with some unknown vintage Colgate soap which proved not everything old is good.

 

Forgot to mention why I prefer Kölnisch over BM is that this has a lemon-lemon peel aroma instead of the orange-citrus slant that 4711 has.

 

Alt Innsbruck is supposed to be very highly ranked.

 

Hard for me to say that it's better than the FB, Slim or The Black Beauty. I've only had 2 shaves with the Parthenon and haven't opened it up yet.

I will say that the Parthenon is a bit more aggressive than the Slim & Black Beauty in the lower settings so far from 1-6. And I would say shaves similarly to a FB. But I want to get a few more shaves in especially at the higher settings before I make an assessment on the Parthenon vs the Vintage Gillette adjustables. I would actually compare it to the Long Handled Super 109 in feel, weight and substance.
