Great to see another shave brush gets a new life like my Safari brush.

 

Maybe you have little facial hairs. I have Dwarven Steel Wool beard hair. I swear my body must be taking all my metallic minerals and putting them into my beard hair. I bet if I melted down my shaven beard hair I could forge new blades.

 

I think I have pretty normal facial hair. Except my goatee, which is a wire brush.

New
Tonights shave was with a German made razor, that takes a Killer Edge. I had a silky smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BDBS. There were zero issues. One of my favorite razors.

Just one comment though, if you hadn't given away all those really nice razors, maybe you wouldn't have to shave with a box opener on a clipboard.

I'll be telecommuting from home for work, so this gives my a chance to field test PAA's Atomic Age Bay Rum. I kind of went crazy with a full set of the products because I really liked the smell of the sample I was sent a week ago. The aftershave has a very 'real' boozy rum sensation permeating it. I can't say I've 'ever' smelled a Bay Rum like this. Wow. Yeah, that's right. I'm bringing out Excalibur for this shave (the Gold Old-Type). Yeah, I named it Excalibur. I'm sure nobody here ever gave a razor a name before. Right?

Just the Basics June/Just for Fun June - take your pick

Time to switch from the Basics to the Fun for a few days. I want to try out a sample of Soap Commander I got since I've only ever used the Courage. The scent profile on courage is peppercorn, citrus and cedar and I do like it a lot. It's a pretty strong scent. Well, take out "pretty strong" and just insert "strong". It's one that sticks with me for awhile after I use it. I decided to try the sample of Fortitude tonight. The scent profile is Hay, Tobacco, and Rum. I liked the scent of the sample, but it is a milder scent and not quite as "in your face".

Since I'm having fun it's time to pull out the New LC, Delta Echo version, and give it a few shaves. Add a Voskhod and it's shave heaven. The LE brush for lather.

Soap Commander, as I have mentioned before, is one of the easiest soaps to load and get a lather out of. Incredibly easy, especially with a synthetic like the Tuxedo in my LE brush. The slickness is superb, and with the New LC in charge it was so smooth I actually kind of faded out and ended up cutting myself near my right ear. Nothing big, just a bad angle probably. Seriously, I was so into the smoothness and just relaxing into the shave I stopped thinking. Oops. Two passes and touch ups and, other than the small cut, it was the usual fine finish with this soap and this razor and blade. The after shave feel is great as well.

As I've mentioned before, Soap Commander is a soap I don't pay enough attention to. The Fortitude, while not as "in your face" as Courage, still had some afterglow with it and my wife loved it. A winner all around.
