Just the Basics June/Just for Fun June - take your pick

    June 8
Razor - Gillette New LC - Delta Echo Version
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Soap - Soap Commander Fortitude
    Brush - Jayaruh #54
    Post - Alum

Only one change today. The JR54 brush is in and the rest of the setup remains from yesterday. Well, one more change since I had no need for styptic today. The Fortitude soap really came into its own today scent-wise as it asserted itself well when I loaded the brush and lathered. It's still not as strong as the Courage but the scent profile is different so it shouldn't be. I spent some time taking it in and the three main scents, hay, tobacco, and rum, are all evident and make an excellent blend. A keeper, I'd say.

As for the shave? Fantastic. Hard to get a bad shave with a New LC, especially if you pay attention like I did today. Near-BBS, and just a great way to end a day off that had too many events in it to count as a day off. Oh well, back to the grind tomorrow so I can relax. I did also finish the day with some awesome Colorado Rye Whiskey on the rocks. Now that's living. Hope your weekend is off and running!

Glad to hear you’re making progress. It must feel great to take the splint off.

I have been traveling and just read about your loss, my condolences. I will keep praying for you and your family.

First happy anniversary and great choice by Mrs. Gulch. Very curious to find out what you were working on for the big meet up.

    TGIF and congratulations!

I agree. Although it’s a lot better than spending hours shopping and buying everything. So there’s that.

Happy Anniversary, Adam!! You have an amazing wife. First of all, she puts up with your soda can razor shaving stunts. And then - she goes out and buys you a beautiful straight! Definitely a keeper!

Hopefully the reno/addition project is going well and is back on track.

There's something in the DNA code in (most) women I think, which compels them to walk around every store they enter, touch each and every piece of clothing on every rack (even the styles/colors they don't like) - then walk out without buying. I gave up trying to understand a long time ago.

But, like Randy said...it's better than buying everything!

A wonderful shave to start the weekend. The big 30mm Tuxedo really tears through the soap and makes a mountain of lather. There is a huge difference in face feel and backbone between the 24mm and 30mm Tuxedo due to density of the knot alone. Three passes and touch ups with the Delta Echo SC left me with a near perfect shave. A splash of Fine Italian Citrus and I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.

If you find any good shaving gear at the yard sale, take no prisoners, Chris! Don’t let their sweet disposition and covered dish casseroles fool you... Those Church ladies can be tough negotiators!

    June Lavender/<1940 Razor Focus
    [IMG]
Starting to repeat my shaves and we're only 9 days into the 30 Focus.
I might cheat with the <1940 razor part, but I will stick with lavender throughout the entire month.
The MdC has been, in one iteration or
another, in my shave den since 2014. I actually has a "Brain Bowl", which is their original, lavender soap, which I did a 30 day focus and worked my way through half of it. I ended up Piffing the remainder to @SRNewb and I ask myself, how much of a dent has Mike made in the seemingly-endless bowl?
Today, MdC, bloomed and bowled, sorry @wchnu, but this is who I am :), produced a fluffy and super-slick lather.
    Can you say "ATG Buffing"?
One thing I noticed today after loading the Personna 74 in my '08 Old Type, was the blade exposure was uneven.
I straightened it out and will make sure that I am cognizant of this issue when using this razor.
Finished with Fine AS. Great juice. :happy088:
