Fantabulous shave today. A 2 pass shave where everything just “clicked”. The Parthenon & Parker blade worked wonderfully on full open as it proved to be much smoother than the Feather when set at the highest setting. Not a single issue to report. All components in todays shave just worked in perfect harmony finishing off with an excellent scent from Artisan Woods. Think a slight resemblance to Creed Aventus without the pineapple note. A green, citrus and clean scent. Have a great evening and wonderful shaves Gents...

Tonight's shave was with one I always love to acquire. I had a perfect 2 pass shave, with BDBS results. Only one small nick, due to a raised bump, that is no more.

Razor- Wade & Butcher "Bow Razor".
Brush- JR#262, Birdseye Maple/Ebony, with WD Silvertip Badger. Excellent brush.
Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy scented
Aftershave- Avon Spicy. Viking Horn Decanter.

Another perfect shave. The Futur is a bullet-proof shave once the correct setting is found. I can just shave without thinking about angles or technique and get as smooth a shave as the most aggressive razors, without any weepers or irritation. The Futur is already an aggressive razor that can be dialed back until it is perfect for you individually. The BiC Chrome-Platinum is the best blade by far for me in this razor and the BiC's seem to have the correct sharpness/smoothness ratio to cut through my beard, yet not irritate my skin.

Just the Basics June/Just for Fun June - take your pick

On to the final sample of Soap Commander for this round. It's Honor up to bat and this is their barbershop scent. To be specific, the website lists the scents as
BERGAMOT, ORANGE, BASIL LEAF, OAKMOSS, PATCHOULI, AROMATIC SPICES, AND HINT OF HONEY AND TOBACCO.

The scent on this one is very nice, if a bit muted. I was expecting a bit more 'oomph" to it, but it's more subtle than Courage or Vision. The performance, of course, is just as good as all of them. I wish I could say exactly what I'm looking for in a scent but it's a very subjective subject, obviously, so I'll just say that for now I'll leave it as "very nice" and "I like it", and we'll see what tomorrow night brings as far as a better feel for it. Stirling Barbershop is one of my favs, so I know I'm comparing to that, which isn't a bad thing. I may have to give them side by side sniff tests to see if I can sort things out a bit more. Again, I like it. Just not sure what to make of it.

The '47 SS did a fine job with the classic Rapira blade. Three passes and the baby is in the house. Quiet alum, and I think I'll splash on some Stetson in the morning before heading out to the salt mine. Have a great night everyone!
