    June 12 SOTD:

    Razor: Gillette Red Tip
    Blade: Astra SP
    Brush: Elite Razor Manchurian White
Lather: The Body Shop Maca Root SC
    Aftershave: PAA Jitterbug Fougere
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Unscented PSB

I got this tub of SC from the TSD raffle, and I think I may have been missing out. It was nice and slick with good cushion. Overall, a very nice shave. I hope everyone has a great day!

Another excellent start to the day. Two passes and touch ups ending in an effortless near perfect shave. I did order both the E and F plates for the razor. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

It's probably silly to post this shave in this 30 day thread, but nobody's stopping me. ;)
I have had this Seville set up just sitting unused for a few days and I was itching for something different.
The soap I picked up on Ebay during the 20% off Father's day sale. It was already priced low at $16.99
WITH free shipping, so...it was, IMO, a real no-brainer.
I do not know how this version differs from the reserve base that is being offered now.
Naturally, my compulsive self HAD to pick up the AS.
    No sale...no free shipping...yada, yada.
Since I am not a big fan of "first impression" reviews, I will simply say that it smells great and I got a great shave.
I can, however, speak with some authority regarding my 2011 R41.
This beast has been a stud in my shave den for a few years now.
I shaved with it for 30 straight days back then and I am not going to lie, blood was shed...often.
Today I got two weepers, both from the same STUPID mistake coming around my jaw line (vertically) and
    NOT KEEPING THE ANGLE!!!!
If there is any production DE razor* that is less forgiving than the '11 R41, I am unaware of its existence.
    * Not some contraption that @wchnu cobbles together...:rolleyes005:
Broke out the alum. Rare...really rare. It spoke to me, not too loud, but I heard (felt) it.
    That's all for now.

  9. Great shot Joseph! Love that CH2!
  10. Thank you young man. It was a "regret" replacement for the 2012 Two Band SiLVERTiP, which I sold. The butterscotch is not my favorite, but Simpson has put in a really top-notch knot.

I didn't have time for a pic yesterday, but this razor/blade/soap/AS combo is repeated again today. Still trying to stay within the goalposts of the 'basic' focus. I think the humble Tech counts and changed up to a prewar Canadian version. The soap is from my first order (along with TOBS and Soap Commander) when I started DE shaving and I believe this AS is available in drug stores in certain areas south of the 49th.
Great shaves both days and thanks again to @Keithmax for these blades and to an unnamed member who most certainly did not send this AS from the USA to the frozen north.
    Have a great day all!

  18. Nice pic, Ken. Proraso Green was my first menthol soap/cream. It seemed quite frigid at first, and then I realized there were other products that had much, much more in them!
Cool photo, Jim. Glad to hear the soap is a winner. I had a tub of Body Shop shave cream about 5 years ago. Can't remember if it was the same product, but it was a good performer with an unobtrusive scent.
A little different from your usual photos, Clint, but still really neat. I love the look of Romera brushes. The wood is always beautiful, and the ones with the cavitied tops are stunning.
Stunning combo, Joseph. The Seville is a favourite of mine and is actually not available in the Reserve base you mentioned. It went from the white tub to the Glissant base, but not Reserve. How do you like the AS?
That Elk brush must be a winner, Brian, we haven't seen any of your other brushes in quite a while!
