I know enough to carry this conversation...
when in Arkansas, if someone starts braggin' and showin' pictures of the "big" bass they caught over the weekend, and asks you if you've ever caught one that big, simply say "my, look at the size of that! we hardly catch any that big where I'm from....in Texas we usually call that "bait".

 

I should point out there are only a handful of users who get fun emails from me like that

how are you trying to load the profile?
are you copying the directory into "documents and settings", and trying to log into it? or did you create the profile first, then use the "user profiles" in system properties to copy the old profile into the new one?

 

my boss found a program called transfer wizard that seems to do a decent job of setting up a profile aside from the weird installer. I think there is some file I'm missing.

edit: I'm trying it again right now, if I get the error again I'll put up a SS

yeah, transfer wizard is supposed to do that, I've only used it thrice, success only once

the "msxsl-redist.msi" indicates it's probably a windows hotfix or update, but I'm not sure why it's being specific to your old profile, and why it's trying to install when you log in, unless for some reason it was in the middle of an update when you copied the profile....
