have you looked in the startup folder to see if there's anything in there trying to run?
might have to go into the registry and check the "runonce" section
these are hard to troubleshoot cuz you're not sure exactly what's trying to run, the only real clue it gives is the "msxsl-redist.msi", which is a microsoft xml redistributable installer, probably and update of hotfix. the real issue is, cleaning out the new computer probably won't help since the profile was created on a different XP installation...creates a problem that really bytes

I just started a thread in The Help Desk for new smiley recommendations. Check it out, and make some suggestions and stuff.

 

I had no luck in the start up menu so far. This really doesn't make much sense considering this doesn't happen on the original

 

right, on the original whatever program is there is able to find the temp files it needs.
I notice int the location section it's looking under a profile by your name, is this your computer? are you copying your profile over?
the reason I ask is if you copied your profile to another profile name, and are using that copied profile (of your profile) by a different name, that may be the communication error.
I know I asked you already, but I forgot :ashamed001, once this error comes up and you get past it, can you work in windows normally?

Well this isn't going to be for me eventually, we're just trying to make it work and using my profile but yes right now I'm copying my profile over. The error pops up 5 times and then goes away and I can work but a few minutes later it comes back 5x again and once again I need to close them all.

 

Did I miss something or wears in Wchnu AKA..fuzzy? he came in hot and heavy and .......

 

hmmm, have you done windows update yet on the new computer? maybe whatever updates it's looking for will stop it?
also check the name it's looking for in the last line of the second paragraph of the error message, is it the same file, or 5 different files?

 

He has no internet at home right now and they blocked him at work, I believe.

Today is Friday, December 19, 2008. I don't know what the temperature is. It's raining. Warmer than yesterday. Beautiful. I continue to rule the world. Twice daily and three times on Saturday.

I am wearing jeans, white slip-on Vans and a button up shirt today. That's right. No slacks for me on Friday. Got a problem? Grab a grenade.

I will be leaving early today. Hell or high water. I am also going to run some errands at 11am. I need to purchase 3 (three) San Jose Sharks license plate frames and 1 (one) t-shirt.

That Star Wars desktop is so 2007.

 

it is looking for the same file every time and yes I did all the windows updates for this machine.

uggh...not sounding too good right now

umm, try this...logged in as administrator, try copying that profile you're having trouble with onto a test profile (create a user {name it test if you like}, log in with that username, then restart), and see if the problem persists. beyond that I've not continued on much in trouble shooting profiles, the amount of time invested doesn't justify the result in most of my cases, at this point it's usually better to create the profile anew. the added benefit is any other potential problems get nixed.
but perhaps by copying that profile onto an already existing profile, maybe the issue can get resolved automagically
