    A fantastic cruise shave after a fantastic day. Today was my favorite kind of day; busy with fun and no work at all. I’ve changed my routine to evening shaves since it just works better on island time. The Karve and West Indian Lime continue to work well. Two easy passes with touch ups ending in an automatic near perfect shave. Plenty of time for a couple of before dinner drinks. I hope everyone had a great Wednesday.

    After a couple days in bed I’m going a bit stir crazy, so I decided to make my first run at the straight razor I bought from @Keithmax. In addition to wanting the razor for its great looking wood scales, I was curios to see if a 6/8 half hollow would make any difference in my shave. In short, absolutely! I love how the extra weight helps the razor slice through my thick, course beard. In the end, my technique still needs some work, but I far prefer this bad boy to my 5/8 full hollow dovos.

    Oh, and when Keith says it’s shave ready “to his standards”, as you’d expect it’s pretty much shave ready to anyone’s standards. Sharp, sharp, sharp!

    Glad you like the razor. Hart gets a lot of complaints about their scales but that razor has some nice scales. I also prefer the heavier razors with thicker grinds.
