Unless you are one of the six people left in the US without a smartphone, you can keep your card numbers in the phone so you don't have to be troubled carrying a credit/debit card. Just trying to help you out here, Fuzzy! :D

I've been able to check in some but haven't had time to take photos of my shaves. I've been shaving about every other day for the past couple of weeks. Working right now on finishing off a sample of Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill and am really enjoying it. That is a tremendous soap. Love the menthol blast and the scent. Shaved with it yesterday afternoon along with the Black Hawk with Proline blade. Finished with Glacial Lemon Chill aftershave. Nice!

We are doing lots of little projects around the house. Someone just arrived to clean all the exterior windows. New vanity and hardware for our powder room will be installed this afternoon, and on and on.

    Have a great day!

    Razor: English Gillette Flat-Bottom Tech
    Blade: 7 O'Clock Permasharp Stainless (3)
    Brush: Generic Chinese Synthetic
    Soap: FrankenMarvey
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

Today is your basic Old White Guy shave- a Tech (albeit an English one), a Stainless blade, and a bowl with scraps of two or three soaps. The brush arrived yesterday from a Chinese eBay seller. It was listed as a factory second with a "Best Offer" option (original auction here) and cost me a whole $2.50 shipped. The major defect is the scarred enamel which exposes some of the underlying wood along with some unevenness of the crimping of the metal ring. I'll let the brush experts weigh in on what kind of synthetic fiber/knot it might be.

As for the shave... The brush, despite being a bit small and a factory second, had no issues with making a lather from the soap. The blade, despite being on its third shave, was sharp and smooth. All-in-all, it was a pleasant shave with no issues and a good face feel.

I’d chalk that on up in the W column, with some serious bragging rights, John. I don’t think even Fuzzy can claim a working $2.50 brush, but I wouldn’t bet any real money on it.

Nice review, Ken! So its easier to get a long lasting shave with the FaTip?
Nice shot Brian, Those PRC razors sure are lookers!
    Excellent shot Clint!
Very Nice, Jim! Sticking with the Red Tip for a while?
I dont know if id call the FBT "basic" but it sure looks good! I'm glad the brush performed well for you, for being so inexpensive!

Good point about the FBT. If the brush doesn't self-destruct over the first few shaves, then I suspect it will be fine. Like I really needed another brush, though. :)

If it were me, I’d Probably sand that bad boy down and put a cool finish on it. Unfortunately, though, you’d lose your bragging rights, since you’d probably have $5 or $7 in the brush by the time you were done, and there’s no way somebody in this group doesn’t have that beat.

Excellent "basic" setup John! Hopefully the brush ends up being a keeper. The Tech sure does look nice!

The Tech was a lucky buy in that it was actually listed as a Star razor and came in a Star case. It came with a two-piece handle, but I prefer the tradition Fat Handle for daily use.

As for the brush, it seems to be a generic synthetic knot (probably somewhere between 18 and 20mm) in a generic handle. It seems to have decent softness and body.

It's always sweet when you can score a good deal. The fat handle looks right at home , and probably does feel better than the two-piece. Particularly with synthetics, cost doesn't mean much. A decent synth can be had in all price ranges. For $2.50 total, it's hard to go wrong. You aren't out much if you don't like it. If you do, it'll make you feel great getting such a bargain! On top of that, wives are less apt to fuss over $2.50 vs: $250.00! :D

Guys, I am not one to air my personal issues, but I've managed to hurt myself in a most annoying way.

Good news, I will be ok! But, I've done something (unknown) to injure the joint between my first rib and sternum. It's causing breathing pain and lots of muscle issues in my right chest and shoulder. Now it's not serious enough to take real pain killers and it's actually better than yesterday, but still keeping me sidelined. I am reading TSD, not shaving cause it hurts to lift my arm, and probably won't be writing any novels on a keyboard this week.

    The Bright Side:

I enjoy reading and naps. Today, I have no choice. Yay for me!
