I've been itching to try this razor ever since reading the head was based on my favourite adjustable DE, the Gibbs.
At first glance the Ambassador looks very similar to the Gibbs but on further inspection the head is larger with a thicker SB. The handle is about a centimetre longer and it comes in 40g heavier.
My last shave was about 18hrs ago, so not a great test for its efficiency but a good test for its smoothness and I found it quite smooth for a first shave.
It's rather heavy for such a compact razor and gravity alone provides more than enough pressure.
As with most razors new to me I use an alum block afterwards and there was a bit of sting, I'll put that down to the weight and my inexperience with the Ambassador.
All in all I'm pretty impressed and not just with its looks.
    Have a great weekend everyone.

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Arko Extra Performance Shaving Cream face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #291 Synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Joseph Elliot 6/8 Wedge Razor and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Peach WH and then Lucky Tiger AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

This Joseph Elliot 6/8 wedge is a straight from the first half of the 1800s, and it is one of my favorite straights. I love it. It is such a smooth, easy shaver.

    Here's mine for today:

    Neutrogena Men Facial Wash
    Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
    Super Speed/Astra day 6
Stirling Glacial Margaritas in the Arctic SS
    Stirling Glacial Unscented ASB
    B+M Arctique AS Splash

Smoother than this isn't possible - not even from a professional barber and let me also say that this Glacial MITA makes the regular version feel warm. The Glacial unscented balm is so cold, soothing and moisturizing as well as protective. The Arctique is an aftershave with a lovely scent but NEVER put on a lot because the menthol effect is so powerful that it can wreak havoc on anyone with a low tolerance to this type of freeze - it even shook me up the first time I used it!

    Have a great Saturday!

Good morning friends. I just now had a very relaxing three pass shave with the Muhle R41 fitted with a Personna blade. Magnificent lather from the Stirling Electric Sheep shave soap. I finished with Old Spice... smooth and refreshed . Enjoy your day friends. ☺

I have 2 of them and been using almost exclusively for almost 3 months.

I'm convinced that blade loading is the problem issue. No matter what, it tends to kick the blade off the posts at the last part of assembly. I snap or cut a feather once a week and load both razors, carefully inspecting for alignment with a magnifying glass. I bought the special mini spanner to make adjustments to the holding screws. I won't try to kid anyone, it is a pain. The reward is incredibly comfortable and close shaves.

7th and final shave with this set-up. I think I'll stick with the same brush and razor for next week. I'll just put in a fresh blade for tomorrow's weekly kick-off even though the Astra is going strong after its 7th shave. Have to select a different cream and aftershave to ride out the week. Getting great results. There's something to be said for product consistency.

Thank you for the input! Guess it must be a design flaw, although it is a cool looking razor with a unique design. If the reward outweighs the inconvenience then its worth it.
