Very imaginative Jim but before we go any further this thing is gonna need an insignia..and Rich has a good idea..
Yes, I know I'm keeping you all in suspense <evil laugh>. But, I'm letting my face grow out a bit to really put woody through his paces. I'll be shaving either tonight or tomorrow morning at the latest.
@richgem and @Jayaruh - would you please move my name to the bottom of the list? We are getting ready to list our house next week and be out of town. Our life may be in flux for a little while! Thanks.
You know the way that paper clip sort of sits there hanging on it looks like there might be some room for adjusting the blade exposure. Jim have you just created the world's first adjustable SE???
The list: (updated) Have read and agree to the guidelines/rules. 1. richgem Woody arriving June 11 2. Linuxguile 3. jimjo1031 4. Drygulch 5. PLAla (it is done, my friend)
Ok... drum roll... the moment you've all been waiting for: I'm still alive post-shave! Now... short version: I LOVE this razor! But, I know you won't be satisfied without the blow-by-blow. So, here goes: First I should note that this is my first ever OC SE shave. As I usually do with SE shaving, I did a double lather... an undercoat of shaving cream (today, Dorco's new one which I'll eventually get around to reviewing) and a top coat of actual lather (Erasmic SC). The double lather set up provides me with the slickness I feel that I need to successfully SE shave. I then did my usual two-pass shave with touch ups. The end result was a DFS with just a few weepers on my neck which is typical for me with ATG shaving on my neck with SE. What I loved: 1) the very light weight nature of this razor was perfect for SE shaving where "no pressure" is more than just a really good idea. 2) The blades were very nice (CVS, right?) and 3) the handle was perfectly ergonomic 4) SE shaving in general makes lining up and squaring your side burns very easy. The only real negatives: 1) obviously the blade attachment method (altho the blade was perfectly stable the whole time) and 2) the wooden nature which make me think it might not survive overly rough handling or a serious drop. And 3) the blade stops might also be a point of concern as Jim already noted. I want to get in one or two more shaves then I'll clean it up and pass it along to the next nut job. And, @Jayaruh I might be interested in getting one of my own. But, a couple more shaves with it before I start down that path.
Woody has been cleaned and packed up and will be off to the Post Office tomorrow. Next stop @Linuxguile . I'll PM tracking numbers once I have them. I think you're in for a treat, Andrew.
