That textured Aqua Velva bottle jarred my memory back to the 60s. I recall using my Dad's AV Frost Lime splash when I first started shaving. IIRC, that bottle was more "frosty" in appearance. Kind of etched all over. The Ice Blue you have looks like......well, ice. Unless you keep it in the fridge.:Animatedfrozensmily:

Nope, that is the room temperature bottle. Maybe it's the lighting. It too is etched all over.

Looks like AV had a couple of different "finishes" on their glass bottles. The one I remember is the smoother looking one on the left.

    SHAVE OF THE DAY
    20180619_094208.jpg

Prep: Occams Crushed Lime Pre Shave Soap
    Razor: Maggard MRG
    Blade: Rapira SS
    Brush: Fine Angel Hair Synthetic
    Soap: Oleo Soapworks Excursion
    Post: CL TSM Fougere salve

Nice refreshing shave this morning. Excursion smells familiar, like a Creed fragrance, it is aquatic and fresh. Whipped up a creamy lather in the VDH bowl that provided a smooth shave. No burning issue like I had with Treviso, which is wonderful since this soap base is excellent. Finished off with TSM Fougere salve which is soothing and moisturizing plus has a nice scent. Hope everyone is doing well and getting great shaves!

    Proraso Green Soap

Had no trouble removing four days worth of growth with this razor/blade combo. Two passes with a little touch up for a very smooth and comfortable BBS shave.

    Razor: Merkur 34c
Blade: 1/2 Personna Blue DE (1)
    Pre Shave: DIY
    Lather: Proraso Red
    Brush: VDH Badger
    AS: Mennen afta
    Newspaper Date: Feb. 2, 1944

Just got the 34c, so I had to take the bull by the horns and slowly work my way through without a pivot ( I think I just broke my arm, patting myself on the back). Any-hoo, I got through with just 1 tiny weeper, cold water cured that. I have an almost BBS shave. A little irritation. I`ve been dependent on the pivot for the correct angle for so long, I had difficulty finding it. Didn`t start shaking until the last couple strokes on my upper lip. Two passes, WTG/ATG, some clean up, some afta and I`m good to go. I must apologize for the newspaper pics, I`m going back to the drawing board on those. Happy Camper, God Bless.

    Bill

    Pre: Cold water face wash
    Brush: Maseto 24mm ST
Soap: The Sudsy Soapery Lavender & Peppermint
Razor: Rex Supply Co. Ambassador @4 (on loan)
    Blade: Polsilver Lodz
Post: Cold water rinse, Alcolado Glacial Splash

    IMG_20180619_160456.jpg
It's been over thirty two hours since my last shave, a good test for the Ambassador I thought.
So in with a new blade and out with another very slick soap and a very good shave ensued.
My best shave with it so far but The Sudsy Soapery is possibly my slickest soap and the Lodz is my favourite DE blade so I was expecting a top notch shave.
    Happy Shaving one and all.

Wilkie boar brush, Wilkie Shave Stick, Wilkie DE RAZOR, Gillette Wilkie DE blade from India - AWESOME Blade, also this razor is underrated - very mild and surprisingly

efficient.... used PAA CaD pre shave soap and star jelly. LUSTRAY blue spice is decent, scent does not last at all - have had this bottle for over 2 years and i never reach for it..
    peace -Jamie
