Fantastic shave, from one of my favorite brands. I had a super smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BBS. No issues, and a joy to use. Razor- Wade & Butcher "Bow Razor" Brush- B400 By Tom. WD Boar Knot. 2 hairs shed. Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy scented Aftershave- Vintage Avon Spicy. Avon Spicy Side Wheeler Decanter.
I did lime today too, Castle Forbes lime cream. Thanks for the tip about the T&H shave oil as hair tonic. I've used argan oil for sometime too and will have to give the T&H oil a try. Cheers, Steve
Nice setup! One pass with the grain? Cool! I had that today, but I felt I needed to at least do a second pass or I’d be cheating!

Well done Steve, everything seems just write with those tools. Ulrik is the man! That is one cool razor.
I have to quote this... high quality all around! Went with the F. Herder 45 tonight. Love the edge on this razor. Refurbished and reknotted this brush and it was nice first outing. Stirling SDM for the suds and Razorock Irish Countryside for the smell. Great evening! Enjoy your shave! Tom
Saturday Straights' Shave Proraso Pre Shave Colgate Shaving Mug Soap Semogue SOC Henry Taylor 5/8 CWR Thayers Peach WH Florida Water I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Colgate Shaving Mug Soap face-lathered well with the Semogue SOC brush. I did two passes with the Henry Taylor 5/8 straight and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Peach WH and then Florida Water. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
I’ve had two great back to back shaves with my straight razors. Yesterday’s shave was with my Charles Adam. It was so good, I could have stopped after one pass. However, I went with two passes and ended up BBS. Today’s shave was with my Kiebitz. Two passes later and I’m BBS!
Jnat throwdown shave today, using two Gold Dollar test razors. 208-5 was honed on the ugly asagi, 208-7 was honed on the pretty asagi (see yesterday's honing post). For a test and especially when the difference is likely to be small, I wanted a super slick soap and for me that means either Santa Mariah Novella or I Coloniali Mango Oil soap. The Mango was up, brush was a Simpsons Tulip 2. Harris Pink AS conplimented the IC Mango. The result? The ugly asagi wins by a small margin! I could notice that the edge was smoother on certain parts of my face WTG, but surprisingly, a much smaller difference ATG. Now if I were going to make a final judgement I'd use both razors several times, and I'd also reverse the razors on the stones just in case Master Shifu wasn't quite consistent making the test razors. Inconsistency in Gold Dollars, imagine that... Anyway, it was fun for the few minutes invested. Cheers, Steve
Getting ready to go to a wedding this evening. Used the French Starter Lux 777, synthetic brush, and C O Bigelow shaving cream, to get BBS. Finished up with a splash of Masters Bay Rum AS. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
