    June 28 SOTD:

    Razor: Schick Injector Type J
    Blade: Personna Twinjector
    Brush: PAA Atomic Rocket
    Lather: Stirling Electric Sheep
    Aftershave: Fine Platinum
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Unscented PSB

The remainder of my Stirling Electric Sheep puck disintegrated on me this morning. I had a nice lather, but did have little chunks of soap in with it. It is officially gone, @Drygulch, but another one will be added in the future as I find it to be a terrific soap. The shave was nice and smooth; finished with some Fine Platinum. I hope everyone has a great day!

They were fully gold plated. Here is a photo of one I sold a while back, you can see the remnants of the gold plating.

Great photo and write up. I agree on Mike's soap as well. In fact I have one up for tomorrow morning.

There's something unusually satisfying using up a soap, isn't there?

    Thank you Clint.
    Can't go wrong with a Mike's soap.

    Another very cool print, Neal!
Georgeous shot Clint! That knot is fantastic!
Fantastic post Joseph! The photo and the commentary are on point! Even though I have a couple of premium razors in my collection I have many many $10 razors as well, and they all shave equally well.
Excellent shot Jim! Congrats on finishing off another soap!

At the suggestion of Keith @Keithmax I took the GD to the high grit lapping films 3um and then 1um. I then gave it 10 laps on the CRoX and then 10 on the FEoX and it ended up wicked sharp. No tugging whatsoever and I was able to use super light pressure to just wipe away the lather and whiskers. I did let the angle get too steep once and had a bad setdown so there was blood on steel this morning. I did two passes with the GD and found myself in a mostly DFS state so all that was left for Woody was a bit of clean up. Have a great day my friends!

Correct, I live in the Springs but commute to Westminster for work.

Excellent picture, Andrew! Other than the bad set down sounds like a great shave!
That's a rough commute. There's me, you and Chris @BamaSamurai that I know of from Colorado.

    Astra SP (3)
    Kent BK4 Silvertip
    Mike's Natural Soap - unscented
Thayers Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Trumper's Coral Skin Food

Another nice, easy shave with this setup while I continue to work through the remnants of the Mike's Natural Soap and Coral Skin Food. The Fatboy remains on 5, and the shaves there are good for me.

In addition to developing a pretty solid technique thanks to being part of the 30DC, I have had to realize when to stop shaving. I get 'good enough' results from my daily two-pass plus touch up shaves. If I resist the urge to buff, chase the baby, etc. I most often don't get any irritation, and I can look forward to another nice shave tomorrow.

I have really enjoyed following everyone's progress since I jumped back into the 30DC this month. It's just like a real family here, complete with one or two wingnuts. :scared003:

    Have a fantastic day, all!

Sounds like a nice shave, Charlie!
More often than not I'm guilty of over shaving myself.

Wonderful photo and nice write up, Joseph. I'm also a fan of Mike's Natural Soap. I can't speak to the complexity of the scents, but I do like the lather and the skincare it provides. I have a puck of Mike's Lavender waiting in the wings, so that will be my first scented soap in his line. I've only used one B&M soap, the Bay Rum. I probably need to try another one eventually, but I wasn't fond of that particular scent. I like most Bay Rum scents, but that one had a note in it that was very off-putting. It reminds me of a favorite song:

"You're a vile one, Mr. Grinch
    "You're a nasty wasty skunk
"Your heart is full of unwashed socks, your soul is full of gunk, Mr. Grinch
"The three words that best describe you are as follows, and I quote
    " "Stink, stank, stunk"!"

I'm glad you came over to join the 30DC. I don't care what Fuzzy says...I enjoy reading your daily posts, and your photos are great. Have a nice day, my friend.
