I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Tabac Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #284 Synthetic brush. I did two passes with the English Ever-Ready SE Razor with a GEM CS SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Peach WH and then Tabac AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

July 2, 2018 - Monday Night Shave

This is my big "4th of July" shave - I am staying at the family cottage for the next 2 nights & I am bringing me some Barbosal & my good ol' Merkur 34G for quick and easy shaves.

1. PAA CUBE Mentholated
2. PAA Fire Works - Limited Seasonal Soap
3. PAA The Atomic Rocket Synthetic Brush
4. ROCNEL SE-G - modern SE saftey Razor.
5. PAL Super Carbon blade [1]
6. Rite-Aid Witch Hazel
7. PAA TOMBSTONE aftershave/cologne
8. 444 aftershave balm from Portugal

The original 70-year-old (or more) strop cord, could not be put back to work, in its old age.
Rest In Peace.

A little do-it-yourself was needed to put the razor back into service:



My dad, barely younger than the razor, gave me a little help.

Could not get the new cord as it was originally mounted.
Impossible to pass it through the hole center of the strop, so is fixed on each side.

- M4 screw and nut in 316 stainless steel.
- "Nut Lock glue" to lock the nut in place.
- Cutting of what went beyond the screw with a Dremel.

Calculated so that it still enters in the "strop case".

Pre: Cold water face wash

Soap: MWF
Razor: Cobra Classic
Blade: Schick Proline P
Post: Cold water rinse, Tuff Red ASL

There is a little brass pin that locks in the H-m lever at the top of the lever....a well placed squeeze with your needle nose pliers will keep that Hydro-zilla eating whiskers for another 60 years...

Enjoy your celebrations - we have to settle for more Games Of Football.

Finally I seem to have got it right with the Supply SE, with the original I had to work overtime to get a passable Shave. I got hold of the revised plates, and find that with a V2 No 3 plate I can get it to work very well, today with a copious lather from the Vitos I had probably my best ever Shave with it. Smooth, Comfortable and super close all round.

Last two shaves 6-30, 7-1

Comfortable and smooth shave with the adjustable Schick Injector this morning. I really enjoyed the menthol blast the PAA The Cube gave my Williams SS, reminded me of the vintage Williams Menthol SS except with the menthol amplified. Followed with the AV Ice Blue AS for more menthol coolness and my face feels great. Hope everyone has a great fourth of July.
