Well, it's only July 5, but we see Popsicle Sticks opening up to a comfortable lead. I know it's a "hurry-up, what's next?"world these days, but sorry speedmongers, too early to see if this trend will continue.
Well, as it has been mentioned, you could avoid it, or better yet, you could teach yourself to 1) lighten the touch even more 2) use a much shallower angle and 3) really focus on removing the lather only. DON'T try to shave the stubble, that's what you issue is; it causes you to press. These suggestions will eventually allow you to perform an ATG pass on the neck. Also, try shorter strokes and stretch the skin.
Rockwell 6S (plate #4) Nacet VDH something soap Simpson Commodore X3 Stirling Gentleman Another boring shave (read: drama free, fun, smooth, great). Still maintaining focus on the Rockwell (switched from plate 3 to 4), and whittling down a soap. Since the VDH apothecary mug got smashed yesterday, the soap got re-homed into a kitty dish. It appears to be happy. Have a great Thursday, fellas! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What a great start to the day, Jim! I always enjoy seeing your SOTD photos. Have a smooth day at work.
Sounds good, Paul. It sounds like you survived the 4th of July festivities. What is the difference between Rise and Foamy? It seems like a few guys here like the Barbasol as well. Just wondering which is your favorite and why. I know you like the Stoylin soaps as well, but there must be something to these canned shave creams....
Thanks! They really do look like a work of art, and I bet they do deliver some nice shaves. I better let you go. It's day shift...more people asking for stuff...and a line at the coffee pot. Have a good one!
You are a friend of the King of TOST. Let me know when you want to try a SE and or Injector. I have some nice loaners.
I like those Single Rings. That one cleaned up really nice. That's a Gillette Razor I don't have. I may pick one of those up sometime.
Skin stretching and a shallow angle (ride the cap) helps for me. Little to no pressure using the cap to glide across the neck. Edit: I didn't read ahead, but I guess @Primotenore already said this. At least we've got a consensus!
Sorry to hear about your VDH mug, Bruce, but it looks like you recovered well. I've had a few close calls with my brush scuttle, and I have a spare one just in case. Happy Thursday!
Thanks Fuzzy. I appreciate it and will let you know. It's good to know the King. Sometimes even my lawyers can't keep me out of trouble, but now I'm all set.
Great photos, Jared! I'm glad you got a chance to relax a bit this weekend, and spend some quality time with your family. I'm gonna guess that isn't the fish that your daughter was fighting the other night?
That was my first go with it Jason. Performance is typical Stirling, the scent is a bit on the light side. That's about all I can say till I get a few more uses out of it Sent from my Galaxy using Tapatalk
Very cool photo, Mark! The loft on that brush looks short...just the angle in the photo? Either way...it's a nice looker! I also love the razor handle. I'm quite keen on the barber pole style.
Excellent photo and lineup, Jim! How many questions do you get about your gear in the gym locker room? Any converts as a result?
Happy Cinco de Julio! I realized last night that we had no popsicle sticks in the house, so I grabbed last year’s razor, stropped it, and went to work. Three passes, no blood, and silent Alum. It pulled more this year, but ended up with a DFS. Hope everyone had a good Fourth.
